A couple of JB3 G4 timing logs!
Hey guys,
Among other features the G4 adds timing monitoring (via logging, in dash on a gauge, or just a knock light indicator on the dash), and of course includes autotuning logic. A big component of that logic is having the tune monitor timing advance and determine how close to your octane limits you are. Here are a couple logs from really early in the development process. The first shows a bunch of runs and their timing advance with the black line representing average timing. The average is taken when rpm 4500, TPS > 80, etc, and is a rolling number representing the last few runs you've done. If you look you can see it trend down run after run as things heat up as one would expect. The second chart shows the same situation only with meth turned on and you can watch the average timing increase run after run. Ultimately this average timing value will become a large component of the autotuning logic. Hopefully in the next batch of logs I can show you how things move around to keep timing stable and optimized for maximum performance and consistency! Mike |

Here are a couple showing the throttle blade as well. Pedal is now what the user is inputting by pressing the gas and throttle is what the actual throttle body is doing in response.
