Orange wires are to be detached they are just bad cuts by wrecker, re-use your sensors in all cases Evolve cannot yet tune n51 engine, the manifold is a manifold

I may go ahead and pull the trigger on this one, or may try to find a newer one, or a better deal. I don't know - I'm not really crazy about buying used parts, but I also don't want to spend $1100 on the Tischer kit...in any case, this one doesn't seem to have the plastic cover (the part that says "BMW"). That can just be removed from my stock manifold & switched over, yeah?

yes, direct fit. you will need to transfer rubber mounting pieces into the zig zag style grooves from original manifold

I agree the manifold is just that, but I would confirm with them that the modules aren't different.

check if real oem uses the same DISA box part numbers across the range. I thought they did..

So, got some more info about the donor vehicle for the manifold I posted above. Car was actually a 2007 328xi N51 w/ almost 104,000 miles on the odo. I don't really have a good feeling taking a part from such a high mileage donor vehicle for transplant into my 24,000 mile car. Is my concern misplaced? I mean, the manifold itself is just molded thermoplastic, which should be pretty indestructible, but I wonder about the DISA units. Anyone have any insight into this?

Everything else comes from your car and bolts onto the plastic manifold. To replace the small disa, you have to take off the manifold. The larger disa is easier to reach on the side of the manifold. I would price out the boxes online or via a salvage yard to see what the cost could be. Have you used tried to use the Sweedish junker site? They may have disa units only for a fair price and they certainly have manifolds. carpart.com has some x3 manifolds available, send more emails out

Agreed completely. DISA units also failed routinely on the e46 gen, prompting a third party kit to build them from metal.

I'm not familiar with the Swedish sites - wouldn't shipping be pretty outrageous, though?
The lady I'm talking to is now giving me a different VIN, for a wrecked 2011 328i N51 with less than 6,000 miles on it. The stock number matches that same description on car-part.com, I just don't understand what that first VIN she gave me was all about.

My understanding is that the N52 DISA's were supposedly ian improved design compared to the M54 versions?

^^Just get it and be happier with your car! If actuators fail just replace them, however I don't see them failing TBH, I have a 130i, 2006. it is now 7 years old and has no issues at all, although it has very low km, it is at 53K as of now, but regardless... all these years still count. I am a firm believer that time wears out things more than the actual use of them.

I only know of one person who has a DISA manifold, headers, and an Evolve tune - and he's made it pretty clear that he's not dynoing until he's done a few more mods. Not sure how helpful an in-car video would be.

other difference is the diff ratio, 130i is shorter. |

Still don't understand the secondary delete, I can't imagine you will get much more than 3hp.
