2014 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix
So less than a week left until this kicks off... who is attending?
I know there were two members on here last year who were part of the marshals - are you guys doing it again this year and if so where are you located? Looks like I'll be somewhere between Waite and Hill in sector 12.5 this year.

There's a hill at turns 9/10 which is great as you see the cars approaching then side on 180 degree view. The slowest turn, 15, on the inside (lake side) of the track is also good.

So first day of the Grand Prix is done and here are some photos from today... luckily my corner was extremely quiet (in terms of action) all day so my senior marshal allowed us to take photos throughout the day haha... don't think I'll be taking photos tomorrow due to F1 so here is possibly the first and final photo update
Rest are up on Flickr! http://www.flickr.com/photos/jhsohn/...7642293612574/

Nice! What series are the Beemers running in? Think I saw that SBM M3 at Phillip Island at a PIARC track day in Feb.
And how good do those Martini colours look? I'll be there Sat. Cheers.

It was in the tarmac rally demonstration and they also had their E36 running around too.
Yes they look absolutely amazing! Shame about the sound of the new power units, though - even the tarmac rally and historics sounded better, let alone the V8 Supercars and Carrera Cup cars... |

Sadly the F1s sounded like crap this year. I was track side and didn't even need an ear muff anymore. But it's not just softer, it's also crap sounding. I'm sure we will get used to it 5 races into the year, but right now I just miss the V8 and V10 of past.
On the plus side, the Williams look shmick. Love it! However it would appear that merchandise is yet to be available. I hope they would have time by the time I get to Malaysia in a couple of weeks! Hope I don't have to wait till Singapore GP to wear the Martini gear! |
