Official "Kassel" July 29th support group

So the Kassel arrived before sunrise in Port Hueneme (a day early) and in theory they unloaded all the cars today, Friday.

If you're on this ship and you've heard any updates on when you've been released from the VPC please post your info here. I'm hoping they will start to release cars for shipping on Mon/Tues Aug. 1/2.

Just curious Marcus, and maybe you posted this before, but why did you sell your 545 after only a year to get the e90?

Why cant they release them on Saturday 7/30? Maybe they will be working in the VPC on the weekend. UncleWede can you go over to the VPC and tell them to do a rush job? just joking.

Mid-life crisis.

Well....the 330i manual is more fun to drive than the 545 steptronic. There is more road feel in the 3. The active steering (mandatory in the 2004 sport package) of my 545 made the steering responsive but "squishy". The step in the 5 was very jerky. The car felt heavy. For city driving I found the 325 hp was under utilized....meaning the 5 was a great freeway car but didn't have the sporty feel of the 3 for the city driving. (My March 04 prod. 545 didn't have Bluetooth, lumbar, folding mirrors, adj. side bolsters....my 330 does)

My 330 is loaded with techy options and is $19,000 less than the 545...so why not? (Someone took over my lease on the 545 so it wasn't such a bad move for me $$ wise)

My CA had no info today when I called. I'm not going to bother him too much....after the deal I got I'm too embarrassed to be a thorn in his side.
We should all be able to get some kind of status in the next day or two.

I emailed my CA and he said that my car was taken off the ship and released to the VPC last Saturday but did not have any more information. The 800# and the OC are both saying en route. We need more information on the status of our cars...like when do I get mine?

Marcus330i: I guess it is just you and I only in the Kassel support group. If I find out anything about my car being released from the VPC, will post it ASAP. The closer it is, the harder it is to wait.

Hey Coz....some guy from DENVER on the Kassel said his car will be there on Monday....that's so BOGUS that I'm still waiting and I'm 3 hours by truck from the VPC!!!! I guess they figure since the boat got to Calif. so damned fast (21 days) they can take their time with the processing. (I'm just blowing off steam....I'm sure they're doing their best)

Your dealer should get your car today then since San Diego is so close. You could probably go see your car now. Hopefully my car was released today as well. Thanks for the info Marcus. :rocks:

Yeah.....my CA said it can take up to 48 hours.....being "released" isn't the same as "truck has left the station"......

Today is supposed to be the day......I'm not sure if it came in over the weekend but I got the impression from my CA that even if it did they really wanted me to pick up today so they could prep it properly. It's a small dealership and they have more staff avail M-F.

to which dealership was your car sent? I want to say mine was on the "Kassel" too as it arrived in late July at Port Hueneme...but I picked mine up on 7/31, so that's...that's not possible I don't think.

The Kassel came in on Fri July 29. Probably your car was not on the Kassel. But it must be nice to have your car. Good that you do not belong to the Kassel Support Group (KSG)...which myself and Marcus330i are seeminly the only members. And tomorrow, Marcus will leave the group and pick up his car and I will be the sole member.

I doubt you were on the Kassel if you got your car 2 days after it docked....but if you were you must have paid full MSRP.

Awwww...Cos.....don't be sad. You could get your tomorrow too. Some guy on Bmerfest said his car would get to the dealer today and he lives in DENVER. Chin up.

FWIW I think I really could have had mine today but I wasn't pushy enough. They had the car finished and gased up but not washed by the late afternoon....but I think they wanted to go home. So I wait another day....but I keep remembering the great deal I got and I'm OK with that.

OK....I'm really NOT OK with that....but you get my point.
