I have the ESS 93 Oct tune. However if I were to buy again I would go a different route and I still may end up buying a new tune to get the one I want.

454 bhp 530 lbft on standard turbo's with Spec R intercooler + hard pipes, ceramic coated 3" catless downpipes, pre cat delete, oem back box -(better for torque and noise imho)
mapped by Ray west on dyno dynamics rr using shell vpower 99ron.
I just dropped her back down to http://www.west-tuning.com/
for a turbo upgrade.....
hoping for 500bhp+
cheers Jamie

question: im also thinking of upgrading to 500bhp+ but am worried about the transmission holding up. any insights at how you're tackling the issue?

I think mapping will be key- we dont want a massive wave of torque coming in and tearing the box to bits so a smooth power delivery will be key..

530lbft is enough to make the rear end lively anyways. Any more and it would be wasted on the road.

I've seen e46 m3's with superchargers running 500+bhp etc without gearbox mods so i'm not too worried..

What mods are you going for?

cheers Jamie

im running on 480lbft now and already think its more than enough.
my map already looks amazingly smooth so im really not too worried about that. my guy seems to have it nailed with his power delivery...

still im a little worried about the gearbox. members on the german forum who have done similar tunes are also complaining about the box now, and my guy also warned me that above 450 bhp will def reduce durability. ill talk to him again next month when i get some other stuff done.

i already have all the cooling systems installed, got a high flowing exhaust and adjusted rear axle with different diff, so apart from the software i would only have to improve airflow and upgrade the turbos and pressure pipe.

what about you?

Thats a good set up you have there- Any ideas on turbo mods?
This years mods for me will be
-some kind of turbo upgrade?
-Possibly a clutch upgrade,
-performance friction brake discs
-Ohlins 3way coilovers

Not sure what the turbo mods will be- my current ones are on their last legs so it was an upgrade out of neccesity.

cheers Jamie

I was thinking of getting modified N54 turbos:

http://www.tuningwerk.de/tuningwerk/...E7sUxrb9Bn3qzM

already got the clutch and brakes too, so im all set in that area. its really just the power that im looking to upgrade now - and maybe a set of clubsport 3 ways

Sounds like they just needed a remapped throttle and really wide tyres.
