So I'm just a little confused-our 335xi has carpet floormats and there wasn't any box to check that specifies floormats. Do they come with the premium pkg? Or is it on a dealer by dealer basis? And where did the info come from that says we don't get carpet mats standard on the 135i?

My CA told me no 3-Series or 1-Series get them standard, and even he thinks it bull....so you must have gotten yours included for free and didn't know it.

I would advise you to wait until the BMW rubber winter mats become available. We have them on the X3 and they are very very good and use the OEM attachment points. I fail to see what the Weathertechs bring to the table, especially at a price premium. :iono:

I think I've paid around $60 (or $80? can't remember) for the X3 mats and they are very good quality (heavy but bendy rubber, deep channels, raised lip, etc.).

As to the confusion regarding the regular mats:
1. ED cars always include mats.
2. US cars don't include them, in theory.
3. Some dealers use them as negotiation points.
4. Some dealers "throw them in" just to demonstrate what a great deal you are getting.
5. Some dealers simply throw them in as an expected item.

If you are not automatically getting the standard mats, seek another dealer or a better deal. Simply tell the CA that your expectation is that a $40k car has mats - if he is any good, he will agree with you and you will get your mats for "free".

BTW, I think a set of regular mats is around $50 or so at the parts department.

If you are still looking for mats, I just received my coco mats from cocomats.com (black with grey dots). They look fantastic and fit perfectly. These mats aren't cheap, but IMO are well worth the money. The set in my last car were 4 years old and still looked brand new.

I am hoping for the weathertech floorliners to come out soon. I agree that the weathertech all weather floor mats may not be a big improvement, but the liners are great for those what have bad winters. They offer much more coverage and will protect the carpet much better. Just my opinion.
