The A/C isnt great because here in germany there is almost no A/C anywhere....The only places I have been with A/C are warehouses because they would be 200% if there werent and where I work thats it.

I wonder if the station is not digital (or some other parameter) it doesn't display artist name / song title??? Maybe check several stations to see if it's all or just some that don't.

The AC in the Si doesn't even compare to the 1er's. It would take 35minutes to cool down my Si on a 85 deg day in Chicago.

I have zero problems with my AC, it is freezing cold on max or if I drop the temp to 60.

When listening to satellite, punch the I-Drive button and it will bring up a sub-menu with a selection for "DETAILS"......select that and you get the Artist / Title displayed

Of course only you can decide what is right for you. Even though my AC isn't working as well as I would like, I love the car. For me that's what counts.

I came from an audi and all of what he is saying is dead on.
The climate control SUCKS. I left my Audi on 72 degrees and never touched it. In the 1er I always have to screw with it, and the left vent will not blow air anywhere but onto the drivers door, even with the vent deflected all the way to the right. Also, when you wash your car (which I tend to do often) the outdoor temperature sensor somehow always manages to get wet and reads 10-15 degrees colder than it should which makes the interior climate control setting useless (again, never happened on my A4). The imaging on the stereo (I have the premium stereo) also sucks compared to the bose system in my audi. I have it balanced and faded one click away from me, but the drivers door tweeter is so in your face there is little hope. And the logic 7 modes are retarted, they remind me of the "echo" setting on those old casio keyboards. They should be labeled "distortion like in a bad theater" and "distortion like in a bad concert hall". The timer in the audi, to enlighten those who have never owned an audi or wv, was (or i guess still is) very cool because it automatically started when you began a drive and paused when you stopped so you could casually see how long a drive took. I always forget to look at the clock time and do the math, and would have thought this was sort of useless, but turns out I always would glance down to see how long a drive was. I also have to say the two way navigation on the mini computer in the instrument cluster is better than the click-click-click of the left stem on the bimmer. And my most major gripe is the turbo lag, but I knew that going into it. In Denver you are forced to choose between reduced power or turbo lag, and in the 1er the turbo lag is lessened from atrocious (sti, evo, etc) to just bad due to the twin turbos. It stings a little more as when I picked it up in germany, the lag was pretty minimal (low altitude), and when I picked it up at my local dealer it was 1) pedal to the floor 2) wait for it.... 3) GO! Finally (man you would think I hate this thing), the shifter is not what I expected. I am used to hondas/acuras, and the s2000 shifter is light years ahead of this thing and it is a 10 year old design. Just about any other car, even a base subaru impreza, has a crisper, quicker feeling shifter. People say the high torque necessitates a crappy feeling heavy shifter, but the sti has almost the same power and feels much better. These are nits and I'm sure I will get used to the bimmer, but nonetheless they are there. Overall its still a great car, and in truth I am more of a lotus elise person than a veyron person so this isn't my ideal setup (but the best one out there right now). |

Hmm, I'm not sure about Denver but I experience little to no turbo lag. Step on it and your butt flies into the back of the seat. I think we can sit here comparing every aspect of the car and find another car that exceeds it in that one area. Whether it be clutch, engine or the stereo but the real test is the overall package. Overall the 135i kicks ass.
