I made an inquiry to Michelin earlier this week. I got a reply today. They will offer the P/S 3 in 215/40 18 and 245/35 18 and they should be available in late summer/early fall. I plan on getting them so I will only have to use winter tires 3-4 months instead of 5-6 months.

Thanks! Wonder when they'll have 225/40/18 and 255/35/18.

The 225/40R18 should come along in that same kind of timeframe. Michelin doesn't have a listing for the 255/35R18, at this point.

Bumping this thread with some good news for those who were waiting on these tires all summer long.

I ordered a set of 225/40R18 fronts & 255/35R18 rears from tirerack last month, at which time the ETA was October 1. The tires were delivered yesterday (August 15), and I had them installed this morning. The improvement in ride quality was immediately evident. They're inflated to 36 psi for the fronts, and 39 psi for the rears.

Tirerack is showing a couple sets in stock right now, with more on the way next week: http://goo.gl/uTNCK4

I was told that these were the numbers recommended by BMW. What in your mind are the correct numbers?

Thats where I'm at, tire noise, wet/dry traction. If they are close in performance the A/S 3 would be a killer deal.

E-mailed Michelin earlier this month and they said the 215/40 18 size will be available around October 1st.

New Michelin PS A/S 3's installed - pics

Just replaced my Bridgestone runcraps with new Michelin PS A/S 3's installed - 225/40/18 and 255/35/18
I can already feel the more supple ride in the few miles home from the shop. We'll see how they do this fall/winter in mixed precipitation and colder temps.
Here are some pics:

Why would you compare an AS to a summer tire?

Also, you might all consider the Bridgestone 970AS if you want a nice AS.
