Many congratulations on your new wheels, looks amazing. The best way to learn about the car is a long road trip. You certainly done that! Happy motoring

Awesome job writing this up. Congrats on the 1M, looks awesome!
I too did the same type of road trip to pick my beloved M3 late last summer. I saw the exact options/color combo I wanted in Virginia on a Ad posted on the M3 forums. Immediately I contacted the owner and called up a buddy and booked 2 tickets to DC as well haha. Picked the car up and had an epic cross country road trip back to Dallas, TX, through curvy/scenic roads. I wouldn't have done it any other way. I got to know the car I purchased very well, got to spend time with a good friend, and to drive cross country. I would absolutely do it again, as I am sure you would as well. I was going to make a thread similar to yours, but never got around to it! Awesome thread, lots of win! |

Great pics and thread. I'm sure the whole trip was a blast.
Wondering if there is a particular painters tape that will hold up in the rain and all since I'll be doing a 10hr drive end of this month.

The 1M gets a slight leg up because it's so much more stable in high speed maneuvers because it has almost no body roll. Congratulations on your purchase. It's a really great car.

Yes... shipping might have been an idea.. however.. No life long road trip memories... no thread... and no love from other 1M owners... It's almost too good a story to pass up. Especially compared to spending another $950-1250 shipping it. Congratulations to the OP as new owner. |

Beautiful find! But why CPO it instead of buying the extended warranty?

Congrats on the 1M!. I do think your use of painters tape was a little excessive though.
