Search tool. This has been the subject of many threads, including one recently (within the last few weeks).
Save us from having to rehash it. Good luck.

Don't know if you've seen these, but here's a couple of threads that talk about the MHD tunes. As stated above, they were right there for your viewing pleasure.

MHD, period full stop. Cobb is trash (no speed limiter, no more access tuner race, not that many maps, now UNSUPPORTED) and JB4 is garbage.
JB4, by the way, isn't a flash tune. A flash tune has at the minimum dozens of maps modified for careful recalibration of the engine's fueling, timing, boost, variable valves, and really whatever else you want that is controllable thru the ECU. This results (if done correctly) in a car that drives like factory but with a shitload more power. JB4 doesn't touch these maps, it intercepts the data from a couple sensors, modifies it, and spams some messages on the can bus. That's a cool hack if we had nothing else, but in a world of easily available flash tunes (MHD) running a JB4 is silly. |

Sorry I've looked up jb4 and Cobb but never mhd so I just assumed I'd run into a wall again cause Cobb said only some 2012 models and for jb4 I can but I've heard complaints so sorry to ask again

It is not cheap, and the results are not nearly as high as some others. Being in SoCal, probably many dealers you can have do it. It is what I plan on going with for my '13. There is a dealer only 2 hours away from me. http://www.dinancars.com/product/d90...ries&mid=1139/ Last edited by MightyMouseTech; 11-09-2016 at 03:03 PM.. |

Boom, you're right! Problem avoided totally.
Now, Dinan...Dinan is garbage (overpriced, very conservative so not much power). A lot of people who got it will tell you they're happy with it but imagine the kind of person who's too scared to get a real tune in the first place and how they just spent beaucoup bucks, and it's not real hard to figure out that it would take an act of congress to get them to admit the Dinan isn't all that. |

I'm watching and interested in what's happening with MHD, no act of Congress required.

Well, I'm actually curious. Now you're making it seem like no thought went into flashing your car at all, which I'm sure wasn't the case.
Here's an example: I got Cobb several months ago because it was the only thing going where I could get an inexpensive but reasonably powerful flash tune with map switching AND that I could remap myself with Access Tuner Race. Now I can do the above, but better, with MHD, so I'm switching to MHD. Pretty simple. |

Just curious does the PPK1 actually modify boost and timing or does it just modify the vanos?
