Week One - I LOVE MY CAR!
I picked up my car last Thursday (10/29) at the Performance Center. What an awesome experience. I don't think I can add anything to what has already already been said about it, except that if you have the opportunity you should not pass it up. I cannot think of a better way to pick up a new car. European Delivery maybe... but you don't get to drive on a track doing the maneuvers that they put you through at PCD. You really get comfortable with what your car can do very quickly.
The car itself is awesome. It takes my breath away every time I step into my garage and see it sitting there. I love the AW and Coral Red color combo. I replaced the chrome kidneys with matte black ones and it's a huge improvement. I also tried to replace the stock trunk spoiler with a painted FRP version of the Performance CF spoiler but I wasn't happy with the quality of the fitment so I went back to stock. I'm going to attempt to get the windows tinted this weekend. My only complaints about it are that it really seems to get noticed by other drivers while on the road and my commute seems way too short now; I just want to keep driving. It seems a lot of drivers want to race. They see my car coming and decide they have something to prove. My previous ride was a bit of a sleeper so I'm not really used to this. I'm hoping that some tint might reduce some of that. I think it's the AW/Coral Red color combo that gets noticed and I'm hoping that darker windows might reduce that effect. Anyway, here are some pics from the delivery phase of PCD: |

Hope you are fine with the empty storage trade in the console... Wish BMW has leave the cover and ashtray.

Wow, that blows. Have you been opening and closing your trunk a lot? I'm curious as to what makes it break. The trunk does close kinda hard if you aren't careful. I've been trying to close it more gently to reduce shock in the hopes that the light doesn't get broken.
