I wish somebody could get a
Picture from the front side of the car that shows the front and the whole side that the picture would fit a iPhone as a wallpaper....

Thanks

how about an accurate photo of the color? Maybe even an idea of a production car with a similar color for comparison. I really want to do the orange, but I'm afraid I won't like it after I get it.

And while you're at it, please let me know about the spring rates

It is not really orange... It is more of a copper

The people at BMW Detroit, so- called product specialist, have no idea about really any aspect of the car

I'm sure you're right. The marketing/sales types that do the auto show circuit rarely do.

Can you measure the shift gates>?

BMW performance short shift kit on a m54 135i measure 50mm's from 1st to 2nd gears. 80mm's OE. 70mm's for a N55 135i.

IS the engine really any different from the Z4sdrive35is ??? How does the overboost work? Only at WOT?

When is the first (oil) service due on the 1M? At 1,200 miles - like a M3?

Does the 1M have TPMS? I know it doesn't have RFT.

Thanks,
Dackel

I went through the gears up and down several times and was very impressed with the feel. It wasn't quite as short as a miata shifter but that's what it reminded me of, very precise and well balanced.

I found the eyebrows on the headlights a bit odd in person. They are very white and looked a little odd on the VO.

As far as the color goes it's impossible to explain VO with words. That and considering the lights at the show are meant to make everything sparkle and glow I found it hard to get a really accurate color match. I'm sure it's one of those paints that looks a lot more toned down in the shade and at night. It's a cool color but not for me. I have a deposit down and after seeing it, sitting in it, rowing through the gears, and sweating on it I am ready to own it.
Oh, the wheel well gap is very exhagerated in a lot of pics I've seen. It didn't look nearly as bad in person but mine is going in for coil overs right away anyhow.
If the engine isn't up for serious track use an S65 will be replacing the N54 in a few years.

Here are a few pics...

The bottom pic has nothing to do with 1M but I suspect no one will mind. Jeeze that 458 is a beautiful car.

Agree. Wish they hadn't added those.

Very good news. If it is close to the throw and feel of a miata I'll be happy.
