WTB: New 1M from dealer near MSRP
Don't laugh. This post is humbling enough already. I been keeping my "ear"'to the allocation thread but have had many "just missed it" situations.
Any leads for new or newly found 1M (115 status would be ideal) would be appreciated. I have seen some members getting one as a result of others backing out at the last minute. Cars.com and Autotrader are a joke. I won't pay a premium for this car. Id prefer an AW. Please PM. Thanks.

Thanks. I've got my fingers and toes crossed for a little while longer.

Just hang in there and be patient. Since you already said that you will not pay a premium for it, that automatically eliminates most available choices to you at the moment.

Your title says "near MSRP", yet your post says you won't pay a premium. ??? Do you expect to find one at a discount? Picky about color too?
It seems like there are cars out there with asking prices of $5k over MSRP, which is effectively a 10% premium. Assuming there might even be some negotiating room there, I'm not sure why so many people have a problem just paying the price if they really want the car. Would you rather get an M3 with a $5k discount, or a 1M at a $5k premium? You're likely to lose less money to depreciation with the 1M, even in this scenario, so where's the problem? Sellers don't make the market, buyers do, and if others are willing to pay the price and you aren't then you're probably not going to get a car. If anything, availability is much worse now that it was a few months ago, and we're likely to see the premiums increase as the number of brand-new cars decreases. At the end of the year a $5k premium might be a very good deal for a new car. |

You're doing the right thing. Keep a close watch on the boards and keep calling the dealers.
You may have to be flexible about colors and options but I think the window of opportunity is still open.

Tell you what, why don't you try and report the results of your search based on the OP's criteria. If you find one, shoot him a PM.
