2 questions about standard features on 135i

Hi guys, for 2011 135i owners, please enlighten me on the following:

On the official BMW technical specification book, it says exterior mirrors are blue tinted as part of standard feature and yet they are just regular clear mirrors when I saw them at the dealership, how did yours come?

Secondly, the book also mentions white turn signal indicator lenses as standard, what are they exactly? Aren't they the amber turning reflectors in the corners?

Thanks in advance for looking into this.

My mirrors are clear - just like what you saw. I think only the euro cars have the blue ones. IF that is what you want you can always order them from the mail order places.

The white turn signals are refering to the fender mounted ones. They are clear, but turn yellow when activated. The front headlight ones are always yellow/orange.

Mine are blue

Mmm for the turn signals they might be referring to the side markers which are indeed white/clear but the bulbs inside is amber.

The from headlight turning signals are amber as it is illegal to have clear ones in Ontario as I know.

Hope this helps.

Thanks LazyBmw, what year is yours? I know either color would be fine, but blue would be nicer

My mirrors are clear but at night when other head lights are shining on them they get darker/blue.

Auto-dimming side mirrors are an option on the car that have a blue tint when they dim. Standard non-dimming mirrors are clear.

I have one more question about standard features:

Do the rear view mirrors turn down when you reverse? Is this a standard option, or do you need a package?

mine do, I have Msport and cold weather but no premium so I think it's standard.

We went thru this awhile back.... My car does not have this(I only got, met paint, cold pack, USB/Ipod & M-sport pak). I believe you need the premium package and to have the mirror switch in the right position.

maybe on the euro spec but my US spec '11 doesn't have premium and my right side mirror drops when I put it into reverse.

Passenger door mirror drops if the mirror selector switch is on the left mirror...if on the right mirror, it'll stay put.

I have a US spec car! I can assure you my car does not have this feature. Mine is a Jan, 2010 build. I don't have many luxo options bc that was the way I wanted my one.

Flipping the mirror switch in either position makes no difference while I am in reverse. I think you need to have the premium package. I have manual seats in my car.

That's what its supposed to do, if you put your switch on the right side the right mirror will no longer drop.

Only the right mirror tilts when you put the car in reverse. And I don't think its a package thing...I'm willing to bet all 1ers in Canada + US do it

Only if the car has power seats, the mirror memory is linked to the seat memory and is not available with manual seats.
