Sam, couple things. You mention we have a color choice for LEDs and HIDs? Can you detail what was worked out to run the AEs as DRLs and, in your opinion, are these LED AEs bright enough to run as DRLs or will they just look kind of washed out during the day? Also, how do we order

Not yet, but I will try to get one of the actual ring, or once the first local buyer gets them. I have seen them, and they are a really bright white.

Yes, the LEDs are white or the plasma white (white with a bit of blue to it)
The HIDs are either 6k or 8k
We are still waiting on someone to test out the parking light. If you could do that, that would be great
Ordering is through paypal, unfortunately pm is not available for me at the moment, but I will setup a temporary email for this and post it here.

I am assuming that we need to wait on the parking light test? Is that a quick test? I go home today and may be able to try it out. Just need a few steps on how to get to unplug it. (never taken headlight out)

Yep all that needs to be done is to unplug or pull out the small city light and see if you receive a bulb out warning on the dash. No need to actually take out the headlight. Just pop off the cap behind the headlight and then unplug the bulb or its connector

Taking out the small diagonal parking light by the low beam light causes a bulb error on the dash. Pain to put back the cap on the light...

And if we prefer a HID kit with a lower Kelvin rating, say 4500k-5000k, is that still an option? I've seen 6000k HIDs in-person and I have to say, they're more blue than white, which actually has less lumens than factory HIDs.

Did you remove the small bulb that's located in the high beam reflector?

The small bulb tilted inward from the side of the reflective housing? Yes I did. It produced an in dash error to say the least... (Hell of a pain to get that back cover back on the light housing though)

I do not think that OEM xenon can be retrofitted for halogen plug and play. The OEM xenons need not only ballasts but they need special computers as well as the light housing units plus a complete computer remap of the lighting... it is a very expensive option and you need quite a few parts and needless to say a flash from the BMW dealer to update.

As of now this is the only option below OEM that looks good and is affordable.

Oh and in terms of the warranty with BMW? How will replacing the headlights affect it?

When will this be updated for a go on buying?

Search the forum for bmw warranty and the law. BMW cannot void your warranty simply because you choose different headlights, however they will not repair or cover the new headlights under warranty.
It is illegal for them to void your warranty for such.

A diy will be posted once we get a LA customer to get them installed. We will contact our depo supplier monday for order so feel free to pm us (it should be working now) with the exact specs you would like and we will go from there. have a great Saturday everyone!

Sorry to harras you with questions... the stock connectors meaning that there is one main connection cord that powers the lights? I believe I looked at it the other day with that "city light" thing and there was just one big (pin connector) in the rear.

Are there any other connections I am unaware of? After trying to install another aftermarket headlight on my younger brothers car today it had the main connection plus another small connector supposedly to plug into the parking light connector, but there wasn't a spot for that...

No worries, like I say, more questions=more clarity.

I believe that it plugs into the two stock connections from the car. Let me get back to you on that tomorrow morning to make sure though.
