Who's going JB4?

There's only one guy I know of who's currently running a JB4 on his car and he's not a member here. Anybody else considering this for their 1M? I'd be interested to hear how the already tuned N54 engine responds to the piggyback.

Let's keep this on topic too. No need to turn this into a tune war.

Im looking to do it on mine. I'm hoping someone with more knowledge than myself on the JB4 can chime in as Terry off N54 tech says it works just fine. I've heard that there are some boost building issues with the current tune.

I already have the JB4 and meth kit ready. I can install it in about 15 minutes and will do after 1,200 mile oil change.

It should work out just fine, just like Terry said. However, I am curious to see the reviews. Subscribed.

The were was a minor issue running the JB4 on the 1M, previously. Was it fixed with the current firmware or do you still need to email him for the correction?

JB4

Considered it but my discussions with ESS convinced me that was the better route to go.

Appears the 8/15 firmware update resolved most of this but I haven't seen any revised data logs to prove it.

I have Procede and AFE dual cone intake, and I just installed the AR downpipes and Berk mid pipe. I have not had a chance to really drive it with the exhaust mods because of heavy rain today.
I did a baseline dyno of 325 WHP with only the AFE intake. I am still waiting on the ETS intercooler. It felt much better with the Procede in it.
I will post the dyno numbers once everything is done.

JB4, WW Meth kit and CP-E charge-pipe are being installed in mine after the break-in oil change. Then on to CP-E c@tless down and mid-pipes and possibly the AMS intercooler to finish it up for the stock turbos.

I run a Mustang Dynamometer and will be posting results here and video's on our company Youtube channel.

That's a healthy baseline. What kind of dyno was it?

But trust me, I'll put 1,200 miles on it VERY quickly!

I'll also do some VP Racing Fuel MS109 testing for you guys.

^ I hear they're looking for a 1M owner in the Austin TX too. If anyone's down that way you may want to stop by their shop. They said the current AP should only need a minor adjsutment for the 1M.

Does anyone know how the tune affects the overboost when shifting gears? I'm assuming it is gone as basically you are in overboost the whole time?

have ams, synapse bov in mine and jb4. Make more power but not a lot more to my impression. DIfference is really bigger when 135i stock to jb3 then m1 stock to jb4. BUt car run smooth. I think the biggest difference is that you have always overboost. Keep in mind that on a 350hp car butt dyno is not accurate!
