Hey Greg (yeah, you), I don't see any 313s on this 135i you posted. Are you sure you own a 135is? You do know that this is a 135"is" thread, don't you?

Clearly, you are mistaken and have doctored up a picture, cause when you go back a page and look at the picture I posted, you can CLEARLY see the 313s. Pfff. Seeee!

Well, I've joined the club, with my new carbon black 135is DCT! I just got the car on Saturday, it was sitting on my local dealer's lot here in Madison, WI and after I drove it, I jumped on it pretty quickly.

Nice picture as I know it's sometimes hard to pick up the blue hues of the carbon black unless at just the right angle.

Thanks! It was pretty frustrating trying to get a good shot of a black (with a hint of blue) car at night. I tried my best to position it near lights well, and I think the polarizing filter I used helped bring out the blue some.

I also got hassled by a couple Scion xB-driving office park rent-a-cops while setting up this shot. Someone inside the building saw me moving my camera around outside and called them, because apparently the landlord doesn't like people taking pictures of the building and particularly the sign out front. I told them I was just taking pictures of my new car and want the glass in the background...they hung around for a while longer watching me move the car a foot here and foot there, then the camera, and finally decided it was cool to leave me alone.

Wow, the sacrifices you make just to get the perfect shot. Looks like a fancy model shoot. I considered the carbon black and looked at it next to mineral grey before ordering and it's a really dynamic and interesting color. Very unique. At like a 45 degree angle in direct sun I swear I saw an entire rainbow of colors in the flecks.

Curious, do you have carbon black side mirrors or are they normal black?

Everyone else will want to know your full options list as well, so I'll ask here for efficiency. Congrats again, you'll definitely love it, probably more and more with each day.

You know, I usually don't go for black cars. Since this was the car my dealer had in stock, and pretty much the only 135is anywhere near me, I went for it and I'm happy with it. I guess I'm a black car convert.

Not sure about the mirrors, I'd have to check.

Options are DCT, premium package, black leather w/ blue stitching, HK stereo, BMW Assist & heated seats.

My gf and I went to an art fair out in the country the day after I got the car. This is the direct route, but you can get an idea of the not-at-all direct route I took home, while occasionally scaring the crap out of her. Not *too* much though. I'm spoiled with some great roads heading west out of Madison.

I'm really impressed with the car, especially the DCT. This is actually the first car I've ever bought without a manual transmission. I also love all the fun noises the exhaust makes. Hopefully my neighbors don't mind too much!

My wife and I saw that car sitting there when we picked up her Space Gray 135is a few weeks ago at Zimbrick! Congrats!!

Thanks everyone for all the compliments! I checked the mirrors and they are carbon black like the rest of the car.

About to hit 1200 miles this week, can't wait to WOT. I know some of you have had a service performed at this mileage. What service do you recommend I have performed? (Oil, other fluids, etc.) thanks

Atlas, congrats on your new purchase! Your photo looks amazing - I had no idea that the carbon black would show that hint of blue.

BMW recommends nothing, but I did a 1200 mile service anyway.

Oil/Filter
Transmission Fluid
Differential Fluid

Did you have that done at your dealer? Or somewhere else (and cheaper).

Is this overly cautious? Probably. But I think it is the only safe way to go. Anyone have an experience to support or counter this thinking?

Yup, that was part of my thinking. I have a great SA whom I trust, as well.

Oh hey!

Ha! There was a parking space like that I would take at work with my last car, which was about twice as wide and just surrounded by concrete.

Better hope no maintenance guy needs to get into that door!

I've added a new photo from a BMW meet I went to Saturday and I was in a car show this morning as well.. Very happy with the wheel swap.
