On a different subject....
Got my hood release fixed last saturday, and NOW my left rear taillight running light is out. Tried swapping bulbs and sockets to no avail. There's a short somewhere in there, so gotta take it in again. Boo.

Your dealer can cover a limited amount of out of warranty repairs as a "courtesy". You should try to argue that since this is a safety issue they should cover it as a courtesy. You may end up paying for labor, but getting the parts for free.

Turns out apart from the service bulletin... there's an active campaign.... Which means replaced at no charge!

I keep looking at the Porter Cable. Is the Flex worth the extra cost?

So that's a 500 mm wide Star Spec with a 500 mm tall side wall mounted on 5 inch rims?

I had the Griots, which is a nice machine, but I stepped up to the Flex and sold the Griots and I have no regrets. It's much, much more powerful- but not to the extent that you can do any damage to your paint. It's just much easier to correct with because of the additional power. I'd highly recommend it.

Congrats Andy!!
Btw, I would like to try the flex some time, but I like my Porter Cable. We should to a detail day and attack cars together, 3 or 4 polishers going at the same time... |
