New 135i owner!

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself into this club! I came over from e90post and previous car was a 2010 BMW 335i manual coupe.

I have picked up this beautiful 2012 BMW 135i with DCT not even a week ago. So far, I am very impressed and having a blast. I love the way it drives and the way it delivers power.

However, I have a couple problems with the DCT and air conditioning. I'll be posting another thread in the appropriate section shortly and hopefully someone can help me. I believe the problems I'm experiencing is software related but someone can chime in.

My 2012 135i has an Alpine White exterior with Coral Red interior. Packages: premium, premium sound, navigation, comfort access, and m-sport. Might have missed a few cause the car is loaded!

Congrats on your car and welcome. Was going to post a link to the "Updated DME software and got fun noises.." thread, but I see you've already been there. Good luck and enjoy your car.

lol I sorta went in the opposite direction, I came from a fully loaded 08 E92 335i auto, AW/CR to a pretty optionless AW/Beige 135i MT

Congrats! Interesting you came from a manual. I guess youre impressed with the DCT (other than the issue you're having) or would you have preferred a manual 1er?

Hope you sort out the problem. I wonder if those with PPK still experience the issue...

I don't have any of the issues and I've had PPK since 2011. Knock on wood (bangs on head).

Thanks!

I've driven manual since I was 18 years old. I am now 27. After riding shotgun in various different cars with serious automated gearboxes like Porsche PDK and Ferrari F1 DCT transmissions... they've began to really amaze me with the way they shift.

I test drove a 135i DCT and it was GAME OVER! The way it shifted with the sportiest settings turned on made me laugh. It was so fast!

I know many people say that no matter how fast DCT's are, it is much more fun to row your own gears. Now, I do agree with that to a certain extend.

I believe that with DCT, I can enjoy spirited driving in a different manner - something that you cannot compare with a MT. Also, as a daily driver it is good to be able to go into full lazy mode and just do nothing. Clutching in and out gets old when I sit in traffic Monday through Friday. IMO, DCT gives me the best of both worlds.

Will I miss a proper manual transmission? I think I will at some point... If I could have both, I would!

I have an appointment scheduled with my dealer on July 13th to hopefully resolve my idling issues with the DCT and to fix up my AC. My AC doesn't seem to be blowing cold air all the time and in hot temperatures, it's not ideal!

Thanks for all the greetings everyone. I have an appointment set for July 13th for my dealer to check out my DCT idle and AC issues. I hope that the dealer will be able to resolve everything so that I can enjoy the 135i even more!!!
