Why do people keep referring to these aesthetic rear bumper kits as diffusers?

Unless a flat under body panel is going to be a part of that kit (which I highly doubt) the only thing it will end up doing is trapping more air than the OEM version.

And on another note, why would they try to engineer new parts for such a low volume car? Can they really make that much of a profit? VERY VERY few 1M owners would dare put any of their crap on an already classic BMW.
Many many claps for this post. Great....

Underwhelmed. Leave the body alone. It does not need someone else's creativity. Focus on real components.

They used to be very elegant in their sporty-medium aggressive look- take the z3 m coupe for instance, absolutely spot on. These days Id struggle to find something I truly like in the ACS lineup

Great responses... Definitely sold on them and i don't have the adaptive drive so it sounds like a perfect fit (or at least that i won't be missing a feature i once had).

I'm a few weeks out from pulling the trigger but i'll report back and post pics.

Huge fan of the rear diffuser. That looks clean. I think they should have gone with a different rim. Not sure you need a front lip. The damn thing looks super aggressive as it is.

Man, acs really needs to look back at their wheel designs from the 90's and go back to the drawing board. My suggestion is start with a set of acs type-1 rs and go from there....

It's the AC Schnitzer stuff BMW approved though? I'm sure it used to be on the Mini over here in the UK. I wouldn't mind sticking their remap on if it were approved
