I've been doing a lot of searching on what size wheels will and won't fit on these cars. Looking into buying some new wheels soon and I've come across the APEX SM-10 Wheel I know running 18x8.5 +35 can be done, I was going to order the Enkei 505SRR or whatever in these specs but they are 6 months out and I'm not waiting 6 months for wheels lol my question is, will the 18x9.0 +30 fit the rear? I've heard and seen 10" wheels fitting but idk about the offsets and I know I've seen 18x9.5 +45 fit, the differences aren't that much, I don't mind running stretched tires or camber. Wondering if anyone has photos of 18x9.0 +30 on their 1? If not is anyone running a 18x8.5 +35 square setup? I might go that route if the rear doesn't look too sunk. I'm not into running spacers with the way I drive lmao.

It's all just math and you just have to think about it a few minutes to get an idea of your answer. A 9.0inch wheel is a quarter inch less wide on each side than a 9.5 inch wheel. A quarter inch is around 6mm (25.4mm in a foot if I remember correctly). So that wheel will gain you 6mm. But a et30 inch wheel is 15mm more stuck out than a et45 wheel. So overall the outside of that wheel will be around 9mm more stuck out that wheels that really stick out too much to begin with. But a 225 or 235 tire will fit on a 9 inch wheel better than on a 9.5 inch wheel, so that will help. I guess it all comes down to how much rubbing or poked out wheels bothers you.

ET30 9" wheel in the rear, is about the same as an ET37 9.5" wheel with respect to the fender side. No way that will fit unless you pull your fenders 15mm+ (very very noticeable)

Gonna depend on what you consider to be aggressive really. And what your suspension setup is. It is interesting to see what people consider aggressive. I haven't gotten a 1er yet but comparing to my bagged VW it's wildly different. I'm running 18x10.5+22 all around without much camber (but stretched tires)

The 18x9 ET30 will be quite aggressive in the rear. Then again, 'aggressive' is sort of a relative term. We generally recommend 9.5 ET45 with a 245/35/18 tire on the rear of the 1 Series. That fitment doesn't require any modification. Your 9 ET30 would stick out 9mm more.

This is what our recommended 19x9.5 ET45 V702 rear looks like on the back of the 1er.

9mm is like less than a degree of camber though, we aren't talking a lot here. The picture you added looks like the wheels still aren't flush either.

Ended up finding a steal of a deal on some BBS RS-GT in 18x8.5 +35 square setup with some chunky winter tires as they were the winter wheels from an M3, pretty pleased with the outcome!
