N55 NEED HELP TURBO/pan LEAKING

2011 n55 e82 135i so just got back from the shop where they told me I need to now replace the oil pan gasket and turbo lines/seals...

My question is this:

They told me 790$ ☹️ for oil pan gasket to be replaced and then they said That the previous owner must have had an upgraded turbo on it and reused the crush washers and seals that go on the oil lines from the turbo to motor or pan when he switched back to stock to sell it. (Don't remember word for word). I'm super pissed. Because that is another 1700$ to fix.

I don't know if I'm being had or not. This place specializes in bmw I don't want to reveal names cause a lot of you will prolly know the shop or the owner could be.a member to the forum

Is 790$ for oil pan gasket to be replaced to much? Or is that cheap. And is 1700$ for all new turbo seals and lines too much? that's with the 10hr labor discount... It was 2400$ instead of 1700$<--- THOSE ARE THE QUESTIONS

I've done all my own work for years from pulling motors on toyotas to replaceing gears in trans. I'm currently a painter. Just don't have my own lift and car is super duper low low style. and I paid way to much to turn wrenches and fuck it up further for myself cause I've done a lot of that aswell hahahahahah any insight much apriciated.

Your best bet is to call around to local indy shops and see what their pricing is. I wouldn't settle for one shops price. Call shops for other states too. There's a lot here in eastern PA. Get some knowledge from them and report back.

You know I bet the oil pan gasket is fine. The first time I changed my turbo I re-used the oil line o-rings. Well, one got pinched on the way in and it was leaking a little. The oil is so thin that it followed the oil pan gasket all the way from the trans to the front of the engine. It really looked like the oil was coming out of the pan. I fixed it in 30 minutes by installing new o-rings. The bottom oil line was the one that was leaking so I could remove it without even taking apart the thermostat or water pump.
