I tried ZAINO and didn't like it. No matter what you do it always leaves a residue. It always feel like there's a thin coat of oil on the finish. Frankly, it does not, IMHO, warrant the extra work.

I then tried the products from these guys http://www.detailedimage.com/

This is awesome stuff they have. The Nattys Blue paste wax is incredible. All the benefits of the ZAINO multistep but in one step.

The SSR stuff is also great and works very well with PC orbital or rotary buffers.

Zaino has new products such as the AIO (All-In-One), the CS and the Z8, which are all meant to provide most of the benefit of the traditional Zaino products but in a much quicker time.

As others have said, if you have residue, you are more than likely applying way too much product. But hey, as long as you're happy, I guess it doesn't matter who you're using!

I like mothers pure carnauba. But I heard a lot about Natty's Blue wax. I'd like to try that.

Meguiar #7 (polish) follows by #26 (hi tech wax) here. Excellent results on my 2000 e46 and the wax came off very easily. Was contemplating about Zaino but decided I don't want to spend my whole day doing 3 layers of wiping, even if it's every 6-12 months.

Definitely going to go with Menzerna Nano-polish and the Super Intensive Polish, Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and Gloss, Chemical Guys clay/lube, Chemical Guys Jetseal 109, and Chemical guys 50/50 wax as my list of must haves! I like it WAY better than the Zaino stuff! The Zaino stuff is good, but once you use Menzerna for polishing and then the Jetseal to seal it; it's on a whole different level.

That's what I used to do before Zaino. Dude, trust me...Zaino is worth it.

I don't have any pics of my E36 with Zaino on it, but it's pretty stunning for white. IMHO the best thing about Zaino is how long it will last. I used to feel like I needed to wax my car on a weekly basis due to the behavior of the water when I wash the car and how the paint feels to touch. Zaino is just incredible when it comes to this.

Does anyone recommend a kit? One that costs up to $350 shipped, cheaper the better.

My 2005 BMW needs some TLC, the dealership prep'ed my car for me, and it seems they used a filling agent instead, because 2 months later all the swirls are back.

I have nothing right now basically, so show me some good kits for newbies. lol

*Yes i know its not a 1, but my previous car broke down before I had 15k to throw down on a 1. So I got a 330ci zhp instead. And after trolling the site for a year, I kinda like it here*

Alright kids, a lot of people have posted what they like to use on the exterior (wax/polish) or what they use for leather conditioning, but not too many have mentioned the interior plastic surfaces. So let's hear it. Meguiars, 303, Armour All, Poorboys??? I've tried a couple of the aforementioned, but they seem to leave an oily residue that just attracts more dirt/lint in the end.

I'll tell you the stuff I love for leather is the meguiar's gold class leather conditioner. It has such a nice smell, ahh. It can get a lil slipper though, so I tend to wipe it down with a clean cloth afterwards to get off any excess and the slipperiness goes away after a few days.

My question though is what to use on the leatherette. Can I still use leather conditioner/cleaner? I read someone on here once say 409, but there's no way in hell I'm spraying my seats with that. I also am yet to find a good interior product that makes the dash and door pieces look good without making it look all greasy. Tried the meguiar's interior something or other and it left no residue, but also no wet look at all to it. i'm not sure it really did anything actually.

For leather I prefer Zymol over Lexol. Zymol seams to be absorbed better by the leather, and it smells great.

I just got off the phone with Zaino, and they recommended the following steps:

1) Z-18 Claybar (Only if needed)
2) Z-AIO (1 Coat)
3) Z-2 or Z-5 (1 Coat)
