Ordering my new 135 :)

Just got approved for a 2011 135 coupe a few days ago. Now I got a few things to take care of before I order. I gotta get my current car parted out (so if you know anyone with a speed3 and needs parts check my sig ) But my biggest prob is deciding on color. Not really crazy about the color options for these cars so I'm gonna be boring and keep tossing up the idea between jet black or alpine white. Other than the color I'll just be doing Black letherette, 6spd, and M package.

Congrats!! I myself am looking into ordering a 135i soon. I've decided on AW with Coral Red Leather.

Is there any particular reason you're opting for the leatherette? On the 2011'sthe Value package is free and gives you leather and ipod/usb adapter, which is a savings of about $1900 over previous years. Plus I don't know if its possible or not to get the sport seats in leatherette, could be wrong about that one though.

Grab the Value Package for free leather and the iPod connection. You don't want leatherette down here. Too hot!

Yes, free leather. No leatherette. Add free IPod connection. Alpine White and Black are both appealing. Both are difficult to keep clean, but Alpine White much cooler in warm climates.

I can never understand how anyone thinks Alpine White is difficult to keep clean.... I mean it shows dirt and all, but it's a pleasure to wash and detail...
I wax my car 2x a year with a basic wax like NXT, and after I wash it, it looks and feels as good as the day I bought it.

Black on the other hand, is a constant battle against swirl marks... especially for a guy like me without a garage.

Check the Build Your Car on BMW's site. Most of the leather colors are available with the Value Package, including Lemon. Actually, all of them are there.

You will have a difficult time finding a 1 Series with lemon leather. In photos it is very pale. I have Alpine White with Coral Red. It looks sharp and is easy to keep clean.

good new guys! basically have everything off my car sold, well enough to pay for my first months payment, tax, and title. my thing with this whole deal was to be able to drive a newer/better car with no money outta pocket, if i couldn't do that then no deal. so it looks like i'll be ordering my car mid/late next week!

the final build will be...

Alpine White
Value Pack (Black Boston)
M Package
6spd

as far as florida heat, im not worried about the black leather. thats what tint and ac is for.

Has anyone had any issues trying to keep the lighter colors (taupe, beige, grey) clean? I am considering a 128 coupe, Alpine White, and keep changing my mind on the interior. I used to have a black interior on my 325, but figured here in FL it sure might help cool down the car if the seats were lighter.

Then of course, there's the issue that the taupe and grey are all that single tone rather than the two tone on black.

one of the guys here has lemon and its kinda a pain to keep clean. not even with dirt but just the fibers/chemicals from dark clothing. and dont even get me started with the loaner cars we have here, its insanely hard to keep the light colored leathers clean. but if you dont mind cleaning your car once every 2 weeks then do the light

Lemon is two tone...

I only have 3000 miles on the car, but I take it to the beach often to surf, I hike (and yes, I do get dirty) and the lemon is still spotless. If you get dirt on it, it's easy to wipe off with Armor All cleaning wipes I keep in the car (no greasy residue and no odor.) My jeans haven't stained them at all and I wear jeans almost every day. They're holding up fine.

I stand corrected. Starting with the Sept builds, the gray will also be two-tone. So that leaves taupe as the only single tone color (if you do not include all black).
