135i One-step detail with OptiGuard coating
This 135i belongs to a friend of mine, forum member Dinger28, who takes good care of it. As such, no real correction was needed except for a couple of spots that required a little extra attention. There are no before shots since the car was recently washed and in great shape anyway. All he wanted was to boost the gloss a little, then protect it with OptiGuard. Really, I just love his car and had fun working on it, so I wanted to share it.
Process: ONR wash Clayed with Clay Magic blue, didn't really need it though. Wheels pulled and cleaned with ONR and Tarminator, then sealed with OptiGuard Spot Correction with Megs D300 on MF cutting pad M205 on tangerine HydroTech pad IPA wipedown on paint and wheels Optimum OptiGuard on paint, wheels and glass. Parked next to my E46. I wish it was in my garage all the time! On a side note, the coating can be tricky to use at times, and this car made it difficult to see "high spots" before they had a chance to set. A couple of spots will need to be redone, but he's happy for now since it makes cleaning the car so much easier for him. Thanks for looking. |

Great work Mike and great way to show off how things can be properly done. Those sun shots are killer! It's nice not only to have a great detailer around, but a true car enthusiast. I hope to see some more pictures of your M3!

As far as this car goes, I had the good fortune to go with Dinger when he picked it up from SC last year. He did the Performance Center pick-up, so we got a chance to play around a little(not enough) on the track, tour the factory, etc. At the end of the day, we had two M school instructors hot lap us around the track in M5s. Riding along while those guys ripped through the course, drifting cars that size inches from the weeds, rocketing to the next corner...it truly was an awesome experience for any car guy. I'm glad I had the chance to go, and my buddy got to take his new 135 home! It was a great day! |
