New VB3 wheels, need tire help.
Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I searched and just got more confused. I just bought a set of Velocity VB3 wheels for my 2012 135i Msport. They are 18 x 8.5 (+40) front and 18 x 9.5 (+45) rear.
This is my daily driver, but I also autox. I need help with suggestions for tires that will help reduce the understeer but still be decent for daily driving. Of course, I want to make sure they don't rub. The car is bone stock. I've been lurking here since I got the car last month. There is a ton of great information here. Thanks in advance for the help. |

I can tell you that 265s will rub in the back on those wheels. So I would do 255 max in the rear. 235s up front will only rub on big bumps, and should be fine with a little bit of negative camber. If you want to be safe, just do 225 up front.

Thanks! I think from what I have been reading that I'm going to do 225/255. Now the question becomes, will they rub if I do a Dinan stage 1 suspension kit which lowers the car 1/2 inch..

I have those wheels and run Hankook V12s 225/255.
I *think* it rubbed once on the highway with 2 passengers and a loaded boot. Thinking it could have been in my head though. I have a thread on this page with some pictures. Sit very flush and look nice and aggressive. Tires dont look stretched to me either.
