Plug and Play devices

Hey 1ners,

I have a question regarding plug and play devices/ pre programmed ecu updaters such as Cobb and the like. Are they a one car only device (sort of like an old school ipod to computer) or can you tune multiple cars with the one device?

A Cobb accessport becomes married to the car and cannot be used on other cars until the tune has been removed from the first car with the same accessport. That's how I see it.

Cobb is married to (1) car when installed and can't be used on another car until it is uninstalled (unmarried ) from that car.
