This is repost from drag forum since it is tire related and this forum gets more traffic.

I am ordering rear wheels/DRAG RADIALS for the strip. I have two options.

17" w/ 225/45/17 BF Goodrich 25" tall

17" w 245/45/17 Nittos 25.71" tall

Before you answer consider the following:

BF goodrich hooks MUCH better than the Nittos (I have both for other cars).

BF's are a little shorter 25" vs 25.7" for the Nittos.

Im not sure what gear w/steptronic you are in going through the traps but the shorter tire might be bad/good. I have not raced the car yet.

I'd go with the 17s. Lighter, cheaper, plus more sidewall. I don't have an auto, so can't answer your other question. Good luck.

Actually both are 17's I had a typo, just deciding between 25" 225/45/17 bfg's (better traction) or Nittos 25.7" 245/45/17 (wider, but less traction)

Also trying to figure out if there is benefit to shorter based on what gear/rpm the car is in going through the traps at.
