Now, the latest news, the suspension is going to be done by Murray Coote in the New Year. .

Not sure it is the best, I quite like yours too.

Sneak in today to check out the progress - only the exhaust was done as one of the tricky piece took them a whole day to do.

More photos from this afternoon - haven't got the car back yet as they haven't properly bedded the pads and haven't done a good road test to make sure everything is good to go. Also haven't done the data logger - but here are some pics.

The akrapovic is amazing - and I actually like when the valve is close. Not louder than stock, but it now sounds more like a screaming n/a!

I suspect they got stuck installing down pipes, they are incredibly hard to squeeze in with engine in place haha

Looks awesome Sparoz! Brakes are pure porn!

Got my car back today - and only driven it home and moderate traffic. Just some initial incoherant thoughts as I have a big day.

Absolutely love the exhaust, and I have to resist not turning the valve on. Doesn't seem to be any drone at 110km as drone seems to happen at medium throttle around the 1.5k rpm. Love the response of the car - almost instantaneous.

Still getting use to the brake feel, and may be the pads are not properly bedded yet. Although the workshop has tried to bleed it six times apparently and go through the Brembo 30km bedding process. There is a bit of travel require initially, but it is very very progressive where I felt I have much more control how much brake force I need. Will need more time in the car to figure it out as there were no chance for me to do some high speed braking.

Turn-in is absolutely brilliant now, but looks like suspension needs some adjusting doesn't feel quite right, and I am too tired to figure out what.

Wow, looks brilliant!

Are you gonna change the centre caps on your rims? They looks HEAPS easier to clean than the stock ones

Not sure if I am going to yet. I kind of quite like the BBS centre cap at the moment. Change it back to the BMW ones may make it look more stock. They are really easy to clean - less spokes and I can fit my hands through and clean every bit without taking the wheels off . Only problem with the new brakes is no more wheel cleaners.

Definitely will look into that, looks quite amazing. On Pete's dyno it would be close I would say .

Saw your car the other day. Very nice. Appears you may live next door to a mate of mine

Does the bbk still have some some slack before taking up ?
Had that prob for a while with last pad / rotor change. Gone now thank god as it made threshold braking very awkward.

Really? I know we both go to Knacky for tyres.

Still a little gap, but seems to be getting better each time I drive. It doesn't seem to be noticeable now.

Had a good drive today, and the slack is still evident. How did you solve the problem? When I release the brakes after it starts bitting, they work awesome. However, after I drive for a little bit, the slack is there again.

Anyone else have any idea that would be good.

They were bedded in?? Is it slack or soft pedal?

I think it is slack as how koastal described. If I lightly touch the brakes there is a click but no stopping but a little more than there is feedback and behave normally. Once engaged and released completely and apply immediately there is no problem.

If I engage the brakes quickly enough then it doesn't seem to have any problem either.

It was bedded according to instructions.

I might try to bed it again and see how it goes. Might just need some hard driving for the callipers to adjust. Failing that, may be trying to bleed it again.

It doesn't feel spongie - the brakes pedal needs to travel further before it bites, so it shouldn't be air in they system.

When mine had this issue it was immediately after I changed pads rotors and front brake lines.
It felt like the pads were retracting further than they needed to. This issue disappeared after a track day. Perhaps a late nite spirited fang to Noosa through the roundabouts will help. Always makes me feel better

Thanks, definitely, will try to bed it again, and then put some heat into the brakes after.

Took it to a mechanic closer to work today recommended by my tyre guys (highly recommended! - PM for details). They bleed the system with their ATE pressure bleeder and got all the air out on the first go. Also found that the rear pins and spring on the callipers wasn't inserted properly causing the loud click when braking. He also adjusted the handbrakes as well.

Now, with it fixed - the brakes are just sensational. I have so much control over the brakes now. Now, just need to see how good they are on track.

I had the CDV removed as well, and I have no idea how much better it has become. I always thought I was a crappy driver with the poor gear change, but it is just CDV doing its nasties. Always thought CDV is there to design to save the clutch but I have to conclude that it is only there to protect it if you dump the clutch. Otherwise, what it does is just create unnecessary slips.

Now, I am happy .

Great to hear Steve. I bought one of those pressure bleeders a few years ago. Good investment if you like to DIY.
CDV is there to save the whole driveline not just the clutch but it makes the clutch take up point sooo much more predictable. Have you got a clutch stop yet too? Very easy to fit and nearly as good a change as the CDV removal.
