Some Pics of my new 2011 135 N55 from ED...

Been back for a while but figured I'd post a few pics of the ride...much more fun than my 335 coupe! Several Mods prepped for the car as soon as it hits shore!

The Exhaust is so much throatier than my 335 coupe or any stock 135 N54 I've ever heard! Love the shift gurgling. Cheeers!

Outside of that..I put over 1000 miles on the thing in less than 5 days! Lots of driving. The exhaust is my highlight..I love the sound! The throaty gurgling race sound is so much more M-esque IMHO than the N54 iterations...which sounds more metallic raspy (I like that too, by the way) My initial impressions is that it doesn't feel as flat and neutral as my 335 coupe (more understeer at the limit) but feels more frisky and fun on the twisties. It's more rewarding if you're willing to put in the effort. The suspension is a tad bouncy in front and takes some correction at high speeds as you go over small bumps. I got my suspension along with some other tricks here for the car once it arrives...we'll see how that pans out.

Also, this iteration of the DCT takes some getting used to (it acts a tad diff. than the DSG on my A3) and when you dump it into "M/S" Mode and the "Sport" Button it really revs high and the throttle gets very touchy. You can mix and match the "Sport" button with "D" or "M/S" so it's interesting to play with the combinations. I haven't tried launch control as the manual says to wait until 1200miles...Otherwise, the car is small and a bit cramped but feels more cacooned and sporty than my 3. Small cars always do that. But I'm loving it so far.

You mean in the first picture? The left one is an M3 Coupe and the right one is a 650i.

In fact, the M3 Coupe has the competition package w/ CSL wheels on it. Awesome.

First of all, congrats on the new car!

I, too, noticed the difference between the N54 and N55 exhaust notes. The N55's have a much deeper, throatier and meaner exhaust sound. I also noticed the "tunneling" or "header" sound mixed in there as well. I have received many compliments on it and its stock! Golf-tee the exhaust and you have a sound that would rival some of the meanest sounding cars around.

I am actually looking forward to hearing it with the BMW Performance Exhaust now, hoping it would carry the mean throaty sound over with it and make it sound even more incredible. But I would have to hear it in person before I would be sold on getting the Perf. exhaust, I just think most cameras and computer speakers lack the ability to capture the exhaust correctly. Right now with my N55's exhaust golf-teed, I do not want an aftermarket exhaust. I like my exhaust exactly how it is right now. I would like to hear an N55 with the Perf. exhaust, but right now I don't have any ambition to change. It sounds that good.

What color interior did you get with your 135i?

Thanks for clarification. M3 is really nice especially in the color and with the wheels. Is M3 much more expensive than 1? Sorry for stealing thread, but since you took pictures..

Now you've got me all the more excited for my 135! The wait is killing me, seriously!

By the way, from his pictures, I'm pretty sure that's terracotta leather w/ high-gloss black trim.

$36500 for the 135i, $58400 for the M3 coupe (plus options, etc).

Hmm...interesting observation about the exhaust vs the 135i with the N54. I'll have to do a test drive to hear for myself.

By the way, any mods planned?

Other than the wheels it looks just like my 128i.

The exhaust sound was one of the first things I noticed when I picked up my 2011 135i. It makes a deep burbling noise that I do not recall hearing in the many N54-equipped 135i's I test drove over the past few years.

Definitely makes for one sweet sounding ride

Looks aside...a 128i, a fine good car, and 135i are not the same car...

Already got my wheels, suspension, front sway, and black kidneys here waiting for it...A Tuner is taking the car as soon as it hits port for flash testing. Hurrah!

I've been waiting to see a 2011 with BSM and terracotta for a while now, it looks even better than I thought it would! Those pictures just made me even more excited to take delivery of my BSM, terracotta with m sport and 6 speed next Friday!

Beautiful car, my man!

Actually mine is Jet Black..the other one is my friends (we did a tandem order and picked up at the same time), he did BSM, Red Interior and MSport with the Gray Poplar and a Manual (which I drove...fun!)...I HAD to have Piano Black Trim (which you cannot get with M-Sport...booo) so I did Regular Sport, since I got my aftermarket wheels anyway...everything is the same outside of the awesome anthracite headliner and M door sills. Cheers.
