Isn't stage 2 just an update that can be emailed to update the unit?

I actually kind of miss the linear delivery of the stock tune... the COBB is certainly a shitload quicker but couldn't they smooth out the delivery a bit? It seems REALLY peaky.

Yeah in some ways I miss the linear delivery, but normal driveability isn't affected at all. But I know what you mean, the only way I found around that is to shift earlier into higher gears. In the end its hard to have it all...but I for one, prefer the "punch" for the fun factor. For Auto-x, you can be sure I'll be back on stock tune. |

It just feels a little squirrelly in turns when the boost slams in like a fuck storm. I guess I'm used to larger turbos that spool up a bit. With these being so tiny and spooling up so fast, it's just such a rapid transition from acceleration to warp speed.

How do you get different maps? Mine just said like 91 or 93 octane maps...

If you download/run the latest 'beta' firmware, you should be getting the latest map he's referring to. But you can always go back an install the older maps if you prefer or want to test out. They're still labeled 91 / 93, they're just different versions of the maps. |

N55 gets no love... I can't decide if I should just keep waiting with no word of a release date or go with the cheaper jb for now.

Stage 0 (stock simulation map) Stage 1 91 octane Stage 1 93 octane Vallet If you're looking to use the BETA Maps you can simply download them from your COBB AP Manager. I couldn't agree with you more. You will get a whole lot more functionality and accessibility with the COBB AP. You do get free software and map updates for life that be downloaded straight from the COBB AP Manager software. Not to mention that the COBB AP does allow for you to do live data logging, trouble shoot and scan codes, and of course switch maps on the fly as well! Installation is simple and it literally takes 10 minutes to download your stock map to the COBB AP and 8-10 minutes to flash your car to the stage 1 map. All of which you can simply do in the comfort of your drivers seat! You can also export your stock map on your computer to back it up just in case you do ever lose your COBB AP Hand held unit. You can also export all of your data logs to your PC as well. |

I also personally couldn't agree more with everything that is being said. This is a phenomenal product, and true bang for the buck, its not just a tune, its everything that comes with it, along with the added support/updates for life. Best of all, it is so easy to install/uninstall--my grandmother could do it. Best $825 bucks I've spent in a long time. |

I've also noticed sharp boost spikes at steady part throttle, say 25% starting at 2000rpm in 2nd gear, if I hold that steady I will get a rather violent spike around 3000rpm. It overshoots and corrects itself, and the car "jumps" during this spike. Definitely needs some smoothing out. Here's hoping they release Streettuner and Racetuner some day...
Also, my logs are corrupt. I see a ton of NULL characters (0x0) in my log files and missing data. About every 5-6th line is cut off and then has a bunch of null characters. |

Do your cars feel like they tremble a bit when the boost kicks in?

The only downside to 2.0 is when you come off throttle fast its not as crisp. I believe Cobb is working on a work around to find a happy medium. |
