Seen plenty of N54 135i cars go pop. Seems to happen rather quickly once you put a set of large twins on and dial up the boost to levels in excess of 650-700whp. Emphasis on large twins.

Because the N54 was overengineered from the factory. BMW majorly underrated it because it would thwart sales from the M3.

If you build it right, you could have a powerful N54 powered car on its stock block.
