will camber plates extend tire life?

From autocross, my fronts are very worn on the outside edge tread blocks, but still have a lot of tread otherwise. Don't want to wear them down to the cords. If I install camber plates, will I extend the life of these tires for autocross?

Of those tires...probably not if the shoulders are gone already. On future sets of tires you will help them for sure.

Your choice on those tires is to have the tires unmounted from the rims and swapped to the other side, giving you a fresh outside corner on both sides. You will still have to keep track of the inside corners over time.

thanks to the replies, i'm trying to justify a camber plates purchase on the grounds it will extend the life of the tires I have, but I think if i'm going this far, I might as well get a 245/40/17 square setup.

wish I could swap sides, but these toyo t1 sports are asymmetric, they have the inside part optimized for water,

Camber plates will definitely help. With Dinan plates (and M3 control arms) I was able to get -2.0 degrees negative camber on the front, and this has significantly reduced (but not eliminated) the amount of shoulder wear on the front tires during track days.

Not only c.plates will extend the life of tires, but they will improve your cars handling dramatically. I would recommend Ground Control C.Plates
