WARNING: JL-Motoring.com
Hey guys!
I just wanted to share my experience with the website JL-Motoring.com regarding the purchase of a so called carbon fiber diffuser for the E82. First of all I need to mention that I live in Norway, so importing parts for my car from outside of Norway can sometimes be a pain in the end-hole, considering huge tax and import expenses and the shipping cost itself. With this said, is it nice to receieve a nice part, and not so nice when it comes out like a piece of plaincrash. For about a month ago I ordered a so called carbon fiber diffuser for my car. It looked very nice on their website and had the following description: -Carbon fiber rear diffuser -High quality REAL carbon fiber with clear coat -Professionally crafted. BULSH*T! I recieved the part some two weeks later, and to my greatest disapointment, after paying about 100$ in shipping, 100$ in taxes and fees added to the 299$ diffuser, it turned out like something i could have done in my garage......drunk! First off, the diffuser was made out of ABS plast, or some sort of plastic material, with a fake carbon fiber overlay on the front. It could easily have been just wrapped with a shitty looking carbon fiber vinyl. Second, the entire diffuser was bendt, as in crooked, and this had nothing to do with the transportation, it was just horrible craftmansship. I can add that the diffuser was even TOO SHORT lenghtwise :S Third, the clips was bigger than the gap on the bumper, so even if it HAD been straight, it wouldn't have fitted. http://img854.imageshack.us/img854/6113/img0606i.jpg http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/5004/img0613ux.jpg http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/1163/img0607zn.jpg http://img594.imageshack.us/img594/6696/img0614h.jpg http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/7998/img0615kj.jpg http://img847.imageshack.us/img847/2793/img0616n.jpg I emailed JL-Motoring.com and explained how their product was, and they kept insisting, in SEVERAL emails, that I should take the part to a body shop and have them install a broken part...... They even suggested that i should remove the rear BUMPER to fit the diffuser...I've installed a diffuser on that car before, and as far as I know, this shouldnt be neccesary?! JL-Motoring didn't seem to care if i was frustrated or unsadisfied with their product, even sending them several pictures. After more emails it came down to that they would have me to send the diffuser back, so they "will double check if the diffuser was bent or twisted in transit". I wont risk spending another 120-160$ in shipping-cost for a so bad item. In my honest opinion, it isn't supposed to be like this in a customer/seller relationship. Finally, here's a couple of quotes from their company info: "Our main priority is to offer our customers top quality car parts and accessories" "We guarantee great deals and expertise, and more importantly, customer satisfaction is our number one goal." |

Wow, that is pretty bad! I wonder if they ship from there store or is it drop ship from manufacturer...
Reason I ask is because if they drop ship, well then they pick a shitty manufacturer. However, if they ship from their store, then they KNOWINGLY sold you a POS.. Either way, thanks for the heads up and your feedback, I def wont go anywhere near this POS business. |

sounds like a shady operation run by scumbags who never got too far with their academic or professional careers. there is no way in hell you should have to remove the bumper to install the diffuser. hope you get this sorted out!

Why would you take a chance on buying something that hasn't had any reviews, no brand identity, and costs 299? What did you expect to get for 299? Next time don't cheap out. You own a BMW, mod accordingly.
Edit: I think your name suits you well. :P
