Comfort access problems, anyone?
As to be expected with CA I unlocked the car by touching the door handle. Once in the car I hit the START/STOP button expecting M54 and the twins to kick to life with that unmistakable growl that give you a warm feeling in neather regions.
Nothing. Pressed the button a few times. Apart from jumping from stop to radio readiness to on...no. Stuck the fob in the appropriate orifice.....nothing.:iono: There was a " no remote" message but still nothing.:iono: The engine did kick to life eventually but I thought it was a bit strange. The car behaved itself for the rest of the day. I've noticed the car does not always start 100% first time with this CA and I'm starting to wonder if CA is a waste of time. Has anyone encountered this problem? It's not like the prob Zuzu had.

Mate it sounds more like a key programming problem, more so than CA.
Does it have the same problem with both key fobs? I have CA and have never had that problem, if anything it is too sensitive in opening and closing the doors. |

I've got comfort access in my e91 and its been great. I don't wash the car with my key in my pocket any more because the car has a stroke and I did manage to lock the car with the spare key in the door pocket which I thought was impossible but I have never had problems starting the car and for the price its really convenient and cool to show your friends.

Dont worry Timbo...
You will love the CA..My key fob never leaves my pocket. Even to open the boot you just walk up and press the boot release near the number plate. You dont have to use the key fob.. |

Having said that, the problem with the "no remote" warning is intermittent and has probably occurred about 6 times in the last week.

Is it true you can charge the fob by putting it in the key slot?
Are you hitting the brake paddle hard enough after pressing "start"? No problems with CA for me. It's brilliant.

Charging the key fob in the key slot is a non CA key feature. Cause CA keys need more power, they have a dedicated battery that needs changing.

I'm really looking forward to CA when my car arrives. My Renault Clio rental car has the same feature. Card in pocket, just walk up and open door and press start button. So convenient.

CA is the Beez Kneez.
Read CA threads on the rest of the site for lots of info, and some questionable theories. There are some who've had problems. Most seem ok. I've had the "No Remote" problem twice early on, but none for a couple of months. Mobile phones "may" confuse things, so that's one to look out for. Battery change sounds sensible, but given it's new, dealer should spring. Given it works on radio freqs, I guess its not surprising things can be buggy on occasions. All in all, it is fantastic. If you are unlucky enough to have problems, that's cruel. For the majority, it truly is a life changing experience. Sounds a bit extreme, but trust me, it is. Will be high on option list for any future car.
