Switch from Eisenmann Quad Race to Berk race exhaust?

When i bought my 135i, one of the first things I began looking into was an exhaust system. After much research, I decided to go with the quad setup (in March of 2012). Out of the quad choices (not very many) I chose the Eisenmann race.

However, I want a louder exhaust and I was just looking to get some thoughts on whether some of you think it is worth it to switch to a berk race.

Currently I have AR design catted downpipes, berk resonated mid pipes and the Eisenmann quad race exhaust on my car with a icarbon carbon fiber quad diffuser. So switching would mean i need to find a new diffuser as well.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Also, I am open to ideas about other exhaust systems. Just trying to see what my options may be. Thanks.

If DPs+berk mids+Eisenmann race isn't loud enough for you...man you must really want it LOUD. Berk race is a muffler delete so it will certainly be louder, but it will also drone more. The resonated mids handle rasp very well, but the drone could be pretty intense esp. if you're 6AT. Berk is a good company though (see my mods), many people here run Berk race and seem very happy with it. You could sell the Eisenmann and have a good margin for a diffuser after getting the Berk setup.

I have berk race, berk mids, and stock DPs if you want to hear it in person. I sent you a PM.

I'd keep the current setup personally...

You could always sell the catback (or even axle back) section and have an exhaust place fab you up a straight pipe set up that fits the diffuser? My plan was to buy a diffuser and have a catback made, it will save money, be exactly how I want it to look, and I can tweak the sound a little if I dont like it

Any video of the eisenmann? I think you are crazy to swap, but it's your call

The setup that you have is really nice and I personally would see the Berk as a downgrade (still a VERY good exhaust).

If it were mine, I would look at catless DP's first.

Then if that is not loud enough, look into electronic cutouts. You could open them when your feeling the need to cause havoc and close them when your not trying to raise the dead.

I dont know about having an exhaust shop fab one. First of all i have seen some on the forum and they just look like they are done poorly. And I wouldn't even know who to trust to do this in the Chicago area

I have never seen electric cutouts for a 135i. Do you know of any...possibly a video. And I love my exhaust, its just I have always had loud cars and the eisenmann just isnt loud enough. I'm a young person, and I need to have something a little more obnoxious. I know how horrible that sounds but I just need something louder. I'm just playing with the idea at this point of swapping

check this out

basically a muffler delete but keeping the quad setup...

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=783926

Edit: Dont know if the hartage quad and the iCarbon have the same positioning for the pipes. Might have to do some research on that...

That requires a different diffuser. If i was to stay quad i would try to keep my current diffuser. Mine exits at the sides and that one exits out the center. Thanks for posting though

This thread was running for some time over at N54tech. It started out being for a 135 but Byoung8 jumped in with his 335i and had some good success.
http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showth...t=10523&page=5

I really like the product that Byoung8 chose to use (photos on page 5)

Another option might be the RPI quad? I am not sure how much it differs from your setup but I have been very happy with mine! This would let you keep your diffuser (I think).

Here are a couple vids that I had put together. Hope it helps man!

When I had IND install my exhaust Eisenmann forgot to send the connecting pipe. Therefore, IND cut my stock exhaust and connected the exhaust that way. However, Eisenmann sent the connecting pipe and i had it installed. Also, IND gave me a stock 135i exhaust because of the mix up. Because of this, i have a stock connecting pipe just laying around. Therefore, I could get a cutout welded to that and just swap my connecting pipes. Thanks for the post. i may look into this more

For example I could put the cutout here.

Let me know what you think.

And in this location it is easy access so i could even do a manual cutout instead of the electric and save money

I talked to Berk about setting up a custom quad, full race exhaust a few weeks ago...They will custom fabricate it, but mentioned that I would probably need to bring the car to California...since I live in Boston...this may be a little further out of reach than I thought, but I may have to make the trek...I LOVE my berk full race and can only dream of the terror a full race quad setup would bring to the streets...egadss
