1M @ NAIAS
I'm in the US now and I will go to the NAIAS in Detriot this January to see the 1-Series M Coupe in person. Hopefully they will show it in Valencia Orange Metallic so I can make my final decision on the color of my car!
Who else is going? Regards Khalid

Bah, I'm jealous. I'm gonna catch it at the Brussels show, but only alpine white will be shown. I guess I'm lucky that I have the chance to see it in person at all, but I really want to see valencia orange in person!

I'll be there. I hope they have all colors there to help me choose at least between white and VO.

I wish I was going. A friend and I went for the show in 2000 and was pretty amazed by the size of the whole thing.
There should be a meeting place and time for a group photo. Anyone want to start a roll call? I just hope it isn't as cold as when I was there (+5 F!!).

How much of Detroit can I experience in 3 days during this weather? Thinking of going but unsure if travel, room, etc expenses is worth it (from Dallas, TX).

I don't know much of Detriot but only plan to be there for the day. The other days I plan on being in Chicago, and some Ice racing with my cousin in Wisconsin. I hear it's a blast..

I'd doubt they would have one of each color there. If I had to guess, there will be one car in Valencia Orange. Of course, you can always get an idea of what Alpine White and Black Sapphire look like on existing 1ers.

Yeah, but one can only wish!!! I just know if I see ONLY VO, I might lean more towards it, and the last thing I need is "hey watch me doing 120 orange". That color looks fast parked.

VO does look damn good, but I agree, it can attract both good and bad attention.

True, but some colors accentuate the "hey, look at me!" factor.

BTW, I'm told that the BMW press conference is scheduled for 11:55 am on Monday, Jan 10. Full press release with prices for the 1M might be available Sunday evening.

Thanks Neil. Can you specify which time zone? I take it that will be EST or something like that.

I'll be at the show on press days 1/10, 11. Can't wait to see the 1M in person. I was hoping they bring one in every color for the world to see.
