Flat tire for NO reason?
I have 5k miles on my RFT.
Yesterday I got in the car and it read low pressure. ichecked all and the drivers front shows 7lbs low. I drive to gas station and fill it. Get up on hwy and within 10min its red. Pull over check..dead flat. Refill at gas station go to tire store..reading flat already again in 5 min... They dont have a replacement tire and cant remove tire to fix it.. The tech still removed my rim and fill it to 50psi and we did the water tank test..NO bubbles..NO leaks...? no markings or holes that we can see.. they dont know why its loosing air.. Any ideas? could it be defective tire bead or something? Should i just go ahead and order a new set of nonRFT's like thes? Yokohama S.drive (Ultra High Performance Summer) Overview | Specs | Warranty | Reviews | Test Results | Survey Results Sidewall: Blackwall
Front: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
Grand Total: $630.70 Its much better than spending $400 for one RFT that cant be "fixed" Should i have the dealer check my tire first for defect? and No i didn't get the tire warranty because they wanted it cash out of pocket at signing..

If you can submerge the whole wheel and tire in a tub full of water - you will see where the bubbles are coming from. Have you checked the valve stem nut? Some one this forum had a loose valve stem nut that was causing a leak. Also - over-inflating to 50 psi can sometimes seal a leak, try normal pressure.
Good choice on the Yokohama S.drive - that will be my choice when my RFT's eventuall wear out. But I might choose 225's on the front. |

No - 225's will be fine. They are slightly larger in diameter, 1.3 % fewer revolutions than the rears will be travelled. You could compensate for that by going to 255's in thr rear.
Clearance: Package is 5 mm (0.2'') closer to suspension/brakes components. Acceptable for most cars. Fenders: Package will stick out 5 mm (0.2'') farther. Acceptable for most cars. Wheelwells: Will fill out the wheelwell by extra 4 mm. Almost no difference |

Well it seems the problem WAS the TPMS sensors came loose.. cause the rear tire just lost pressure 10 min ago.. and the stem was loose..
WHY.. or how could the stem come loose? Should BMW replace the sensors or tires now?
