do you have any shots of them on your wheels from a distance?

i got two cf roundels left over from my e34, and debating whether to put them on and get some for the wheels.

this is what mine look like:

I don't like them.
To me the Roundel is not to be messed with.
I would use those black ones on my old Datsun B210 that I'm pimping.

But I like your sig:

I have learned that I will NOT change my roundels, thanks to this thread!

I'm just being dumb and snide...

On Pimp My Ride one time I saw them turn a nasty, beat up old Focus into a bimmer by using an aftermarket hood with the bimmer grill..it was a nightmare!

I think it looks really nice, especially if you get that aftermarket carbon fiber trim on the interior to match, might as well get the carbon fiber hood too!!

fllpunk, Is it the picture or my laptop or the car? I can really see the difference in color between your bumper and hood. Its not that apparent in other colors I have seen, including mine, black sapphire.

Your mod does look nice!

i completely agree. roundels are not to be messed with. the colors represent the core of bmw and it's history. but to each his own, and am not to judge anyone (except that dude who went to KAS for the soupcan exhaust).

just so we all know what history I have unabashedly tarnished...

"Not long afterwards, in 1927, a new economy car appeared on the German market. Badged as the Dixi 3/15, it was actually the British Austin Seven, built under licence in Eisenach. As it happened, Popp knew the owner of the industrial group to which Dixi belonged and he lost no time in proposing a deal under which the company and its manufacturing licences should pass to BMW. And so in September 1928, BMW bought the Dixi company and the famous blue-and-white roundel began to appear on a car which was now called the BMW 3/15."

from the website:

and if you like the roundel so much download it here:

thanks for the history lesson. i did not know that. look, you have tarnished nothing. do what you wish with your car, i don't think it looks bad. i didn't mean to imply otherwise. it's just not my "style", and i personally find the blue and white roundel much better that any other color/version.

o.k., it's like this. i'm a basketball fan. it's like seeing michael jordan in the number 45, or in a wizards jersey. i'm like WTF? please don't get defensive. it's not evil, but it's just not....right. for me anyway

it's like osama bin laden in a baseball cap. well, let's not go there. anyway, it's all good.

All this "not to be messed with" nonsense just makes me want to mess with it. Gotta agree about the soup cans, though.

Hey, how come we don't have a roundel smiley?

Seems like an issue of degrees of tarnishing. A roundel change is very low on the scale. These how ever...

http://www.jimmy540i.com/bmwnightmare.htm

I kind of like those roundels, but I don't think I'd do it myself.
