2009 135i Invoice pricing?

I've been lurking around for invoice pricing for the car + options. I found the PDF for wholesale costs in the sticky. These are from sept of 2008. Are these the most updated prices?

I don't want the stealership to counter my evidence as out of date!

I'm going to get an alpine white / red leather 135i coupe with ipod usb adapter and hi-fi sound. MSRP = $39,400

Wholesale is $35,230 sound about right?

I'm shooting for the .9% financing, trade in my WRX for fair value, and toss nothing down.

Prices went up on Jan 1st slightly.

I'd direct you to the article below for more detail.

I'll try to break it down. In addition to the prices in that wholesale PDF...

As of January 2009,
- Base price on the vehicle has increased by $230 wholesale, or $250 MSRP.
- ZMP (M-Sport package) costs $1185 wholesale or $1300 MSRP.
- LeMans Blue costs standard metallic paint fee of $500 wholesale or $550 MSRP, but requires ZMP package.

Otherwise that info in the September document remains correct.

Bad news here though, as there is no 0.9% financing for the 2009 135i at this time (for the period Jan - Mar 2009). In November and December they had financing specials for the 2008 models, but the best they are doing, at this time, on any model is 2.9%. For the 135, its 3.9%.

I waited out the Nov/Dec financing periods, really hoping they would introduce 0.9 or 1.9 for January, but it seems I have rolled the dice and lost. I'm going to order my car at the 3.9 rate soon.

ZMP package WAS the ZSP package correct? Any differences for '09 with this package versus '08 besides the price increase?

Edmunds.com reports the same invoice base price of $32750 as in that pdf. Looks like they are both inaccurate by $230.

Damn! I thought .9% was available on the 1 series as well. 3.9% isn't too bad I guess...

3.9% as of Jan 3, 2009. Its the new rate, should be good through March.

ZMP and ZSP are different packages.

ZSP = standard sports pack
ZMP = M-sports pack

I won't re-hash all the differences, as others have done so in great length.

I had not checked rates for a few days which explains why I had not seen the 3.9%.

I dont know how much truth there is to this, but I just ordered my car and got it for 500 over "invoice". After talking to a few different sales guys from different dealerships I was always told that the profit margin on the 135 is 6%. The way each sales guy figured out their invoice price when I wanted a number was by taking 94% of the MSRP and that was their invoice, not the numbers you would find on edmunds.com or similar.

bmwusa.com is probably the best site to get the current MSRP pricing for your car + options.

What's the source for $230 being the increased wholesale price? I did not see wholesale price mentioned on the BMWBlog site, just retail.

Probably the .7% over dealer invoice? If retail goes up, so must the invoice/wholesale price...

ZMP is only $200 more than ZSP - so no big deal.

That's fine (I can do the math myself, too,) but no one's seen an official BMW document indicating the price, have they?

Does anyone have the updated 2009 Invoice Pricing with the Jan. price increase?

I know it was posted before but can't find the thread with it and I forgot to save it. Was looking into ED and only copied down those numbers at the time.

Thanks in advance

Don't use an approximation based on % off MRSP. You should itemize everything relevant and show the exact MRSP and exact invoice price. Don't give the dealer any excuse to say you've got it wrong. Make your offer as invoice plus xxx, not MRSP minus yyy.

Also, don't limit yourself to one specific dealer.

There's a great thread on buying at or near invoice and FAXing multiple dealers: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=209828

Awesome info! I had actually heard of this method before and typed up a spreadsheet, but the info on faxing is really helpful.

How does this look?

Overall - looks like you got the right idea.

IMO - you should figure out what you really want and leave no questions (like which color, which tranny, etc). The "Payne" method from the thread pretty much assumes you are special ordering and know what you want. The advantage is you'll get exactly the options you ask for. Disadvantage is you'll have to wait two or three months (like me) to get your 1er.

If you're going to buy one already at a dealership, they can always counter with some other color or option combination if they don't have access to what you want. At that point you can hold your ground and accept something less than your favorite color, but for less money. After all, it's not the *exact* color you were looking for, and you heard the new 370Z is awesome....can they throw in an alarm? The negotiations will probably require a bit more finesse than required for a special order. You also may not get *exactly* what you want. The advantage is you'll have your 1er right away.

Good luck!
