Thx, Dack!

The prelim (yet hard fact) numbers look pretty credible:

Hard facts (Evolution catback system):
+15hp
+19Nm
-16Kg weight

For comparison's sake, on my 135i when I installed the Maddad midpipe and axleback (without letting the ECU adapt, car went straight from bay to the dyno next room over), I got 10 whp and 10 wtq gains. The net weight loss was about 18lbs (6lbs on the midpipe, 12lbs on the axle back). With titanium, you would expect the added number weight loss Akra posts.

Question is, are the above posted numbers peak gains, average gains, max gains?

Those carbon tips look sweet, but I can only imagine how they'll look after a couple of months of driving.

Just found out that for the exhaust to be at its loudest the wireless kit is required unless you remove a tack welded plate inside one of the pipes.

The wireless kit will be available for the slip on system as well.

As far as the sound, it will be very similar, as the mid-pipe section isn't really changed much.

Do you mind telling who's your Akra dealer? PSG by any chance?

I catched a rumour yesterday that a BMW dealer would receive his exhaust
next week.

so the figures quoted for gains are pertaining to the evolution system only or is it for the race configuration with dn pipes and cat delete?
does the vendor know of the gains associated with the slip on only? is it the usu 3-4 hp?

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but the guy I spoke to at the Akrapovic stand mentioned that the final system is different than the one found on the MotoGP Safety Car.

Did he say how they were different?

The only reason I ask is that on the Akrapovic website, they make particular mention of the Evolution system plus the downpipes. When talking about the downpipes they say "When used in conjunction with the Evolution System, this is virtually the same setup used on the 1M Moto GP Safety Car."

I agree with you that the system would be different in someway, but the big question is what is different between the Moto GP Safety car and the production exhaust (besides the obvious wireless kit)

I'm personally hoping that the production version benefits from the addition of some resonators as seen on the Frankfurt Show car that were not present on the Moto GP Safety Car. (I'm just guessing that the Moto GP Safety Car doesn't have resonators, but I don't know for sure)

As mentioned above, this looks like it's going to be another waiting game.

Nope. Akra won't sell you the exhaust without the tips. They are listed separately with a part # just for their cataloging purposes. Would've been great if you could just buy the black M3 Performance tips for $40 each and call it a day.

I agree.. these are just crazy prices for style and a bit of horsepower.

A basic tune is a fraction of the price of an exhaust tip, and will give 3x more power/torque
