Can my car be coded for BMW Apps?
And is there anything other than Coding required?
This is my options list: Quote:

There are a few ways you can get BMW Apps depending on your production date.
If your build date is pre ~ Oct 2011 then you will be able to code 6NR (Apps) easily. If your build date is post Oct 2011 then your nav software system will likely be version 42+ which means you need to buy a FSC code to activate the function (similar to upgrading navigation maps). Both options also require you install a video wire from the smartphone cradle to the head deck. You can make this wire yourself for <$5 or order from BMW (not Aust). I've done it on my car and it is relatively straight forward. TBH I never use the feature so not sure if you want to invest any time/money into this. |

Thanks mate...
My build date is 31.05.2012. Any idea what the FSC code costs? And how hard is it to run the cable? |

Hmm... I'd really like to do it... Having things "disabled" because of the market I'm in really pisses me off... (Like no iTunes Radio in new iOS7 because we're not in the US)... but that's a fair chunk of change for something like that...
I'm looking to upgrade my maps as well but the maps+fsc code is only $150 or so... much more reasonable... There's a bunch of other things I want to get coded as well but there doesn't seem to be anyone in Brisbane who can help... |

FSC codes can be had from GPS underground. Theres a few guys that sell them there if you give them your VIN for $50USD. Cant say ive done it yet, buts it great if you want to do a cheap nav software upgrade to your CIC navigation.

Yeah.. I was sort of aware of that site... never really checked into it though as it seems kinda shady? Kinda like buying crack from some dude on a street corner, if you know what I mean...
