Best aftermarket exhaust

I'm looking to upgrade my stock exhaust to something new with more sound.

I'm mainly looking to change mid-pipe and rear-pipe.

Akrapovic seen to be really nice but it's so expensive. I was also looking at meisterschaft system.

I would like to some some idea of what you are using.

Thanks

Norm

Installing the Dinan this week, sound was superb on my last BMW, jury is still out until I get on the 1M. Plan to add the Revozport CF diffuser to hide the exhaust can. Guess you have to ask what is the most important feature to you of this upgrade. Country of origin? Sound/lack of drone. Weight? Fitment?

Plan to take some sound clips after the install as I could find next to no sound bites of the Dinan. GL

I'm from Montreal, Canada.
I'm looking for something with a better sound and less weight and also something that is bolt-on since i want to be able to go back stock if necessairy.

I'm currently using my car as a daily driver and also doing track day when I can.

There are a lot of options out there, if you haven't already look into doing N55 mids. As far as exhaust I like the Akra for its weight savings and valve control, price is steep and some say it's raspy... however it's top notch quality..HMS makes a valved exhaust that sounds really good, it's not titanium and is still pretty expensive. Built to order in Germany. Long lead time... I've read about a few other titanium exhausts companies out there..nothing local, and little reviews. Eisenmann seems popular, also German, was told it can drone.

I'm sure others will chime in. These listed exhausts were what I was considering. GL

I have the meisterschaft and N55 mids on my car. Makes me smile everytime I start it up but be warned...it is loud inside and out all the time. It is fine with me but some people want a lot less sound inside the car during normal driving. You get use to it. I have not regreted my decision yet.

I love my HMS midpipe/rear combo on my daily. Massive sound, great character, valved for cruising (don't use much) and increased power. High cost for the valving system, but not as expensive as Akra. I like Miltek and Eisenmann as cheaper alternatives, but wouldn't change the HMS.
Good luck choosing - good choices out there.

Does the revo diffuser fit with the dinan? Looks like it might interfere.

Not sure yet, I have not purchased the diffuser. Starting to like the look of the exhaust.

I am really liking the sound, much more than I thought I would. It's not loud inside the car at all...screams at WOT. Good compromise for an exhaust w/o the valving system.

I will update when I get the diffuser.

A cheap option: 2nd cat delete, and resonator delete @ a muffler shop (hard to go back to stock though) - OR - cut open the muffler from above and remove some of the piping. I've seen this done on 335's and M3's. Weld it back together and it looks 100% stock during any inspection... fire it up and it has a mean growl, and LOUD lol.

Exoticspeed S1. 3" piping and also has built in actuator just like the OEM exhaust. Has a really nice sporty sound to it. Includes the mid pipes and rear muffler and carbon fiber exhaust tips.
