+1

No ED, no 1m for me.

I sent emails to a few dealerships around California but wanted to know if I could just contact a dealer from another state and do ED and PDC with them? I'm sort of new at this.

My dealer told me with 100% certainty that ED cars come out of dealer inventory, and unless I already had a deposit in, I would not get a car this year.

Sure puts a crimp in my plans for our 25th anniversary trip in October

I may have to order a 135i or 335is instead...

A local dealer has told me as well that ED cars will come out of inventory/allocation as well. However they're not taking deposits until more pricing is confirmed in a couple of weeks.

If they don't give me a break on pricing, I may cross-shop a 335is (with DCT) as well.

This may sound silly, but when I sold BMW's in Britain, on the odd occasion if someone needed an earlier allocation car for a specific event/requirement we would contact and ask early order customers if they would consider selling or swapping their slot to help the customer out. Usually with some form of incentive! I know its a long shot but you could plead a bargain with someone on here!!!

I really expect to know a lot more in the next week. I have had several email conversations with an internet sales manager who understands I am looking for ED.

I have been told the earliest ED date "MAY" be May 16th, I originally requested 14th as my first choice. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Has anyone else been able to confirm the 7% for ED?

I've heard of a few getting up to 9%, just trying to get a feeler for how many are getting this deal.

7% will put me in a 1m, but less is better!

My dealer was able to place an order for me today, in his system/order bank. Although this doesn't really mean the car is "ordered", because we don't have a production number (slot?) from BMW yet. I gave a deposit, and he knows I am expecting ED in late October.

I am dealing with the same dealer as Sam, while I haven't placed a deposit yet, I have also heard the same thing from a different CA from the same dealer.
