Style 264 from a 135 on a non sport 128?
I did some searching, thinking this must be a common topic, and found zero.
So the answer must be so simple that no one talks about it.... Here's my question: I have a 128 non sport. I am thinking to buy a set of wheels from a 135, style 264 staggered, as I understand it, and put some non RFT on them. Will there be any fitment issues? Or coding issues? I assume I have to get the TPM either from the person selling the wheels, or purchase it separately (for like $60 for all four tires?).

I think they should be a direct fit if i'm not mistaken.
Do you already have the wheels and tires lined up? I'm selling a set of 264's with like-new tires and TPMS if you are possibly interested. They are listed in the for sale section. |

Style 262, 17x7.0, 205/50 front and back. Stock 128i wheels and tires for NA, on the base (non sport) model.

Interesting. I'm not familiar with these tires and have tentatively lined up a set of 264s without tire -- but will do a little research. Ever make it to the south bay?

So I might have trouble with the 264s on my car?

The only issue you are going to have is finding TPMS for $60 for all four. The retail price is something like $60 EACH. Also, there was a change to the sensors (frequency) around 2010 I believe. So you might want to verify which sensors your car has and which ones you are getting (pre or post 2010).
If you don't buy sensors, you will have a yellow error light on the gauge cluster that will remain on whenever the car is started. In terms of wheel fitment, if you stay near the stock tire sizes, you won't have any issues fitting OEM 18's on the 128. There are tons of threads on recommended tire sizes. |

Yeah, I don't know what I was smoking. A set of four TPMS is more like $200. I've got a 2012, so even if I found someone selling their wheels a decent price, I gotta take that into account. I don't want the error light, and I like the "safety" of using TPMS.

Most definitely. I'm not in a rush, though of course I'll jump on the first deal that makes sense.

[SOLD] I've got a set of 2010+ TPMS sensors I'll sell you in the wheel classified forum. I bought a set of oem wheels from a guy after he went with aftermarket rims. The sensors were supposedly on the car for less than 2000 miles, a 2011 135.
Beru Part number on these is 6790 054-04 (I believe BMW puts a four digit code before this number, i.e. 3610, when referring to it in their parts catalog). Check it out and PM me if you're interested. I'll email you pics if you include your addy. Last edited by BimmerEnthusiast99; 11-13-2011 at 12:22 PM.. |
