Yeah its a known problem. I dont know if they really fixed it, or if they just keep slapping the old ones in the exact same way. Hence the reocurring problem

My damn brake light fell off a week ago as well

You know what people should do. Take out their 3rd brake light.....say it fell out. That way when it DOES fall out you have an extra

To me it sounds like a manufacturing defect (obviously). I think your trunk may be skewed so that the plastic is under stress when installed and then finally fails?

If it was the plastic most/all would be failing.

Only the red covering falls off. The rest of the assembly is still there, and parts will want it back for warranty.
