I don't use a wax, I use a polymer sealer: Menzerna Power Lock Sealant
I had never heard of this product before hanging out on 1Addicts. Its such an easy to use sealant. And it last a LONG time on the car. I highly recommend it! https://detailersdomain.com/Menzerna...-oz_p_323.html

If I'm in the mood to use wax, I'll reach for one of my pots of Swissvax. I've got quite a few, and own the entire line of Insignis products. When it comes to a wax, nothing finer.
However, I tend to reach for my Menzerna Power Lock a lot. It's a sealant, and it applies and removes so easily it's tempting to ONLY use that. Looks fantastic also, great beading and lasts longer than a wax. |

Mothers Reflections Wax (polymer) and Reflections Top Coat (carnauba blend). Both liquid.

Wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant 3.0, and top it with Wolfgang Fuzion Carnauba polymer estate wax. Love the showroom finish and durability.
Obviously, I prep the car before hand: claybar, swirl remover followed by glaze (or polish enhancer if no swirls to remove). All from Wolfgang except for clay, I use Pinacle Ultra fine.

i normally use the Menzerna Powerlock to seal the polished finish. but i also add an extra layer of protection with Lusso Oro.
you cannot go wrong with this product. it simply makes your paint look very wet. great protection as well. i often describe it as the more reasonable SwissWax. http://www.detailersdomain.com/Lusso...Wax_p_109.html |

For years, I have been using Black Magic Liquid Car Wax. It is what I'd call a synthetic wax. I have used every wax on the market, and I have found the true waxes only last a couple of months while Black Magic is good for up to a year.
As for the shine, it is as good as any of the highly touted carnauba waxes. Another good choice for the lazy is Nu Finish in paste or liquid. The paste work best but harder to remove. Unfortunately, Black Magic wasn't popular, so it got pulled from the shelves. I believe it is available directly from the company and Amazon. I have a couple of bottles, so I'm good for a while. |

Shine is a product of the polish used. Wax and Sealants are more for protection (of the polished surface). |

No I'm not confused. The terms polish and waxes are incorrectly used interchangeably. Products like NU Finish and probably Black Magic are sealants. They lay down a protective layer on the paint while providing a shine.
There are other ways to protect paint, but they are labor intensive. One way is to wash, clay, polish, and then wax. If one has the time, the results can be very satisfying. The other way, my way, is to wash, clay, and use a products like Nu Finish or Black Magic. I've used Nu Finish for a great many years and have been quite satisfied with it. A couple of years ago I started using Black Magic with equally good results. In any case, I suspect most of the one-step concoctions often called waxes are similar to Nu Finish. |

Everyone has their favorites but the MOST important part of making your paint look great is in the prep. If you clay and polish out as many of the imperfections as possible, you'll have an awesome looking finish pretty much no matter which wax/sealant you use.
Personally, I've been using a combo of a glaze and sealant. The main purpose of the glaze is to fill in any left over swirls I didn't get out with polishing. The sealant is the protection. I know I'm supposed to get all the swirls/scratches out with polishing but I'm realistic knowing I'm not going to get them all!
