2012 135i 6spd dyno numbers

So I finally dyno'd (Dynojet) my 135i (just under 3500 miles on the clock) today and was kinda pleased with the results but I'm not sure if it's true or not.

They did 2 pulls with the first pull being 281 and the second pull being 280 but for the torque.....it was 368 the 1st time and I'm not sure about the second. The guy said something about maybe they weren't hooked up right but the guy that was doing this I think it was his 1st or 2nd time ever using the dyno. It seemed like the usual guy wasn't there and it seemed like the other guy that knew what to do was busy working on a truck and a Chevelle SS......anyways, I'm still pleased I finally got a baseline done. Now I just need to start modding.....sometime soon hopefully.

280 sounds perfect for horsepower. The engines are slightly underrated, so if you're going by the BMW numbers, you're getting more than the supposed 300 hp at the crank assuming somewhere between 10-15% power loss. The torque.. not even the overboosting N54s produce that much to the wheels! They get close, though. Unless you have a secret 1M or PPK engine (which you don't... because the HP numbers don't match), those numbers don't match the general N54/N55 power characteristics. However, you seem to be perfect in terms of the ~280 HP.

Do you have a printout to share? Not sure how you could pull off 368 on torque stock should have been around the 300 range.

I had them give me the file but it doesn't have the torque numbers just the rwhp numbers. I know the rwhp is about what is seen on a dyno jet, its just kinda erks me that they couldn't get a proper torque number but I it should be a tad higher than the rwhp so eh, whatever. Here is the 2 files I got from them if anyone wants to look at them.

well if you get bored you could sit and calculate the torque numbers every 500 RPM and connect the dots to get a rough idea of what it looks like.

Somethings not right. Nobody here( umless someone steps up) has seen TQ number anywhere near that high with a stock 1 series. I would go back to the shop and get your money back or get another run, free of charge with the guy who knows what hes doing.
Not to mention, they didnt even give you a complete print out. I wouldnt have too much faith in this place.

horsepower vs rpm

You knew someone would compute this.

hp= torque * 2 * pi * rpm / 550 * 60
or
torque = hp * 550 * 60 / 2 * pi * rpm

so, assuming a 4th gear pull with a manual trans, the torque numbers compute as the following:

Max Torque about 280 ft-lb at the wheels, Very Respectable!

This pleases me since I have a 2012 6spd 135i with roughly the same mileage. Haha.

Your horsepower numbers seem to be right in line, but I do agree with the others that the torque seems suspect.

For what it's worth, when we dyno'd our 2011 AT 335i, we consistently measured ~275whp/wtq on our Mustang MD-500 dyno.

I figured the torque was at or a bit above the rwhp numbers but it would have been nice to get the real numbers shown. Thanks for the help on the rough estimate Suds and it was a 4th gear pull as it should be.

Somebody did have too much time. I'll add to the effort, unfortunately doesn't show much given the little detail from the breakdown.

Great numbers! I wonder if the N54 would make the same power?
