question on bov install?
was trying to get the ****** bov install to the 2009 135i, till a point when i need to remove the stock charge pipe, i actually found that mine is different than a lot of pics i saw compare to the other n54 engine. Mine stock charge pipe has a extra pipe and is connect to like a pump but that pump is not connect to anything at all? anyone has an idea what that is?
I took it out, and get the ****** bov installed, with the front of nipple on the bov connect to the engine and the back nipple of the bov connected to the DV at the back? is that correct, and for some reason i actually found that the sound of the bov is so tiny, hardly notice it at all, is there something that i miss? here's the pic of the extra piping

That extra pipe is BMW's "sound generator" that's on the 135i and not on the 335i. The install pics you've seen are more than likely for the 335i.

Yeah I was just reading another thread on charge pipes the other day and it mentioned this piece as well. It is just a sound resonator...throw it in the garage....

I'm not really sure how it functions, but BMW supposedly put it on the 135i to provoke a sportier engine sound in the cabin. Here's the link on real OEM third item down.

Has been going on for years. It is similar to this thing seen on the new Mustang GT 5.0: http://blogs.insideline.com/roadtest...ired.html#more
