SES Light with long crank.

Dudes,

Remember the thread I started a while back on my long crank? Well I finally got a SES light during this last long crank. When I turn the car off it won't go away when turned back on. I have a BT tool and I have not used it yet.

What is the procedure for using it and clearing a code? I have an oil change and check-up on wednesday and I don't want them suspecting anything.

I think it's my fuel pump, actually I'm pretty sure it's my fuel pump. The engine ran rough after I turned it on after being off for 2 days and the SES lit up.

Should I just BT tool and erase codes?

I would check it for codes.. if all codes are not "TUNE" related.. leave them there.. They'll see it and you may get a HPFP out of it. Unfortunately, the BT does not do selective code clearing yet.. it's all or nothing per module.

P.S, if you don't have a tune, then nothing to worry about. Just don't mention you scanned it or anything.

This code is the first indicator your pump is going south. Had the same code before my pump went. I would not clear the code, leave it for the dealer to see.

I just posted my very recent experience here. If yours is similar, they'll have your car for about 3 days. You may want to bring it in today.
